I could never get into car racing, but I'd watch him all day. Now if he raced motorcycle...

Sport: believe it or not, race car driving is pretty demanding physically -- and body core strength is a major source of the ability to hold up to the demands. Added benefit: you look hot and get commercials -- and fans -- with abs. : )

Not only is Wheldon attractive and, obviously, a terrific driver, he's quite articulate and incredibly gracious. Following his victory, every interviewer he faced focused on Danica Patrick & he handled all questions with grace & aplomb.

Yeah, I don't think he is...that is a very typical British look(from what I saw last year)...we can all dream though.
It is funny when people don't think of race car drivers as athletes. I have seen during coverage that going into corners at the g's they are pulling is like suspending a nice sized bowling ball from your head all day. One needs to be in shape for that I'd say!!

WINNING TRADITION: Helio Castroneves of Brazil, who drives for Marlboro Team Penske, has two Indianapolis 500 victories, one of them as a rookie in 2001 (Los Angeles Times).

He is truly a class act. Quite charismatic too. If the IRL can keep potential stars like Dan and Danica around, they just might give the NASCAR boys a run for their money...

Hopefully something will come out of the talks between the 2 open wheel racing leagues( CART & the IRL ) as they try to make 1 series again. Until that happens NASCAR will still rule.

Just saw a commercial for Letterman: Dan Wheldon is scheduled to be on Monday night.

The IRL goes to Southern California this weekend. I just found this picture from the event at the California Motor Speedway last Fall:
