The trailer looks great, so I wonder how the movie is...has anyone seen it yet?

Looks cool, in the preview. Brits are good at producing great natural actors, often people you've never heard of.

Mike Leigh's films are works of art in simplicity, realism and character development; though the dialogue is sometimes a bit clever by half.

Great article with Weekend's Tom Cullen in the latest issue of OUT - on newstands now.
Here - I've made it easy for you...

I want to see it. Advocate on FB posted a link to the trailer. I am hooked. I hope somewhere in Houston shows it. If not, I'll have to wait to see if it comes out on DVD.

I saw it in LA in July, at whatever the main LGBT film fest is called. It's ... OK. The characters are not your typical clone / gymbunny stereotypes, but the plot and themes are not terribly original.

The new Sundance Cinemas in Houston doesn't open until November 23rd but maybe they will show Weekend. I saw it Xfinity On Demand ($6.99.) I really enjoyed it. I think it is powerful in a subtle way. I would really like to see it on the big screen, especially at the new theater. Can't Wait! Angelika FC was great but the sound was awful. The sound is supposed to be high quality at Sundance Cinema.

UPDATE: Opening at River Oaks on October 14th.

I went into New York to see this about 2-weeks ago and I thought it was well done and enjoyed it.

I saw it today and loved it although the dialogue was hard to hear and understand at times.

The duo had great chemistry and I could really relate to them both.

The drug use in it was a bit much. It didn't further the story at all.

The sex scenes were very well done too.

Yep. This is exactly how I felt. I think both guys are cute, and loved Glen's personality and Russell's responses.

The cool thing was: I enjoyed watching it OnDemand. I could pause it, go to the bathroom, and could rewind certain parts (Tom Cullen naked... biggrin.gif ). It was cheaper than going to the movie theatre, and it was a relaxing experience. I hope that more movies are going to go this way.

What is OnDemand? Does Directv have it?

I went to the website to see if they have it, and couldn't tell if it does or doesn't. I have TimeWarner Cable.

If your Direct TV is connected to the internet then you can get shows on demand. It's called CinemaPlus and they download to your DVR. It's not nearly as user friendly as Comcast was.

Weekend won two awards at the British Independent Film Awards.

Tom Cullen won for Most Promising Newcomer.

And the film won for Best Achievement in Production.
