Yes. You're the only one. No one else has ever adjusted their cup or looked to see if others were doing so. You're the only one. You must be proud!

I've seen JIP adjust his cup, usually means he just need ANOTHER beer.
There were a couple girls in my high school that played baseball before we had a softball team. They adjusted their bras alot. Does that count?

Though I've never really done this, only speculated about it...
When "official" winter biking... especially over ice.. i'd not take the time to adjust.

Former SF Giant, Rich Aurilla, is a major cup adjuster! He is always messing around down there. Perhaps the cup was too big or his was too big for the cup? Anyone noticed his distracting behavior?

Aurilia is a hottie! I haven't seen him do it, but David Wells does after EVERY SINGLE pitch.

Sigh, yes, balidog, I've witnessed this many times back in the good ole' days when Richie was a Giant. He often adjusted himself in between swings during his at bats. He'd swing, then walk off to the side and start adjusting. Never really caught during the broadcast, you had to be at the game to watch this joyful distraction. I'm still sad to see him gone and to see that he's now in the minor leagues in Cincinnati. I hope he's able to get called back up. He's a great guy.
But on the other hand, the Giants' new short stop, Omar, may not have the cutie face, but he has a nice butt and an interesting package. Not sure if he's an adjuster but I'll be watching him and evaluating his position. wink

I cannot believe that nobody mentioned the king of adjustments: Javier Vasquez. After every pitch, he has to adjust himself. I would love to pull his pants down and see if all the adjusting is really called for.

Actually Javier Vazquez has toned down the cup adjusting. Living in New York City, I tried to catch a lot Javier's starts with the Yankees last year and I couldn't help but notice that on most of his pitches once he completed his follow-through he would slowly lift his right arm back up and it stayed up. So it looks like he has finally learned resistance and is now bypassing the bulge area. I wonder if it was something about the Yankees pants that helped him kick the habit, or maybe it was hypnosis.
Now it's true in Montreal, he was giving it a good squeeze or push after every single pitch.

Watching the Indians for years, Thome always was messin' but it was fun to watch. I think the big beef thighs got in the way. Best part is, he even adjusted when he was out and about in town, I don't think he even realized. He came into the deli/restaurant where I was eating, grabbed a handful at least 2 times before sitting down to eat.

I'm watching the Yankees/Astros spring training game today and two things amaze me. One is watching Andy Petitte pitching against his former teammates. And two is the incredible bulge and tight pants Andy is showing off in that Astros uniform.

I often wonder if these guys even notice it when they watch video tapes of themselves. Oh well, either way, it's hot. I miss Rich Aurillia too. And Doug Mirabelli on the Red Sox loves to get a quick adjustment in right before the pitcher releases the ball. Maybe he needs to make sure it's snug before receiving the ball.

Nope, haven't heard anything about it except that the show is airing in June.

I would have alot of difficulty concentrating if I was the film crew for that episode.

What about Javy Lopez? He "knocks" or adjust his cup after giving the signals on every pitch. Been doing it for years. Those lucky knuckles.

Yeah, when I first saw him doing that, I thought it was part of the sign... but then he was doing it all of the time. I guess it means, "the sign is done."

There are a couple of other catchers that do this... sometimes I wonder if they are going to be ready in time to catch the pitch!!
