Hey, was just shopping on InternationalJock.com, and was wondering what types of undergear MLB players mainly use, and what types of brands. Does anyone know what types of brands they mostly buy (Bike, Franklin, etc.)?

I just bought:
All-Star Baseball Hard Cup
Franklin Jock Strap
Bike XST Sliding Shorts
Bike No.10 Grey Athletic Supporter

I know they primarily use sliding shorts in MLB.

Does anyone know what else they use? I don't know how often people are in MLB locker rooms, and if you'd be able to find out what types of brands are mainly used. Or if they even advertise what undergear brands are mainly used in MLB.

Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Dexter, ESPN magazine had a big article on this brand called Under Armour that many major players use because of it's ability to wick sweat from the body and the tight fits make their body look good.

www.baseballexpress.com has some great stuff out there. The best cup right now is the XO, it actualy has flexible sidewalls which will give a little when hit. Not that it tickles but is so much better than the original cups they came out with which completely jammed you.
MLB UMPIRE
Many MLB players, as well as many of us umpires, wear Under Armour products. They have numerous different types of items. Specifically, I wear their heat gear items. When it's exceptionally cold out, I wear their cold gear stuff.

Specifically, I prefer this cold weather gear item (black). It does a great job of helping us retain our body heat--better than anything I've ever worn.

For all other days, I wear this. It doesn't have to be very hot to wear that one, either. Its comfort is unprecedented--never have I worn an undershirt as comfortable and effective as that one. The term "heat gear" is kind of a misnomer, because it doesn't have to be hot out to wear that. It does such a great job of keeping sweat away from me and making me feel good, especially behind the plate with me wearing a chest protector.

There are competitors to Under Armour, most notably the McDavid line of products. However, McDavid's items are not the same material as Under Armour's, and the latter simply cannot be beat. I've tried them all over the course of my career, and Under Armour is the best. If anyone's looking for a recommendation, you've got one in mine here.

Note: One exception to this is Under Armour's ankle length undergear shown here. It doesn't have a cup pocket built in. McDavid's counterpart does, which is a big plus. We've been trying to get Under Armour to add that, but so far they've not done that.

Under Armour is the way to go... It works and feels great.

I do some work outside, usually at night. It can get pretty darn cold on a lonely Texas country highway.

I highly recommend them.
