I don't know if I'd like to see a contact sport where the testicles are unprotected.

Grabbing or hitting the testicles incurred a penalty in ancient Greek Olympics. Punishment was something like hitting with a switch - and it wasn't your daddy's switch either. I suspect a lot of blood was drawn. The shame of cheating and the mere accusation of cheating was probably even more painful.

How times have changed.

Methinks it would happen by accident from time to time.

Just read this about David Williams, who stated that he appreciates his gay fans and "said he liked being a gay icon."

Which current, American MLB, NFL, NHL, or NBA sports figure would say that? A few years ago, Mike Piazza made sure to let everyone know he was straight, when questioned about rumors regarding his sexuality without adding that he might find it flattering that his appeal to fans of all stripes, who might wish he were like them. Here in the US, we have professional athletes denounce homosexuality as a sin against God. Now, I am sure there are Aussie ruggers who share those sentiments. Yet it is refreshing and hopeful, when players such as Williams or the British Ben Cohen, express their appreciation for us!
