Only eight players left after the last round. Javy got the highest number of votes, which is no surprise. Surprisingly Mike Mussina beat a certain Red Sox player. Maybe he's losing his appeal. tongue.gif It's also surprising to see the differences in ages. Steve Finley is 39 and Joe Mauer is 21.

Here is the next round:
Barry Zito
Vs
Joe Mauer

Javy Lopez
Vs
Mike Mussina

Steve Finley
Vs
Brad Ausmus

Alex Gonzalez
Vs Pat Burrell

Interesting that Steve Finley and Brad Ausmus are matched against one and other. When they were both in San Diego (ahhh....those were good days to watch the Padres) they were generally considered the two hottest team members and were used in ads targeting the female market.

Are you sure that it was only the FEMALE market that they were targeting, Adam? wink ....keep in mind that Larry Lucchino is one of the sharpest execs in all of baseball when it comes to marketing and satisying the fans (which he has proven during his time in Baltimore, San Diego and now in Boston).

As for the results of this latest round of Baseball Survivor how can Alex Gonzalez POSSIBLY be trailing?....I know Pat Burrell is hot but c'mon, guys....Alex may be a part-time player now but don't hold that against him cause he's still as gorgeous as ever. smile.gif

You're right. I should have said "ads overtly targeting the female market." Kyle disliked baseball, but those ads got him to attend a few games with me. In fact, at one game where Padres were passing out caps as fans entered, I wanted to head towards the Finley gate but Kyle demanded we get our caps at the Ausmus gate.

Sounds like Kyle was a very wise man smile.gif ....I only hope that Ausmus (along with his equally hot "senior citizen" teammates, Biggio and Bagwell) are finally able to advance to the World Series....not only do they deserve it after all the sportsmanship and class they have shown over the years, but some of us viewers have our own selfish reasons for wanting to see the 'Stros play a few more games, too. wink
