Hi Finneye and/or Sportinlife!

HE'S BACK!!!!!

The main man, Felix Sanchez is back! And how!

He won his heat of the 400 hurdles at the World Championships this evening and looked sensational.

There is a wonderful photo of him doing this, on the IAAF Website. Could either of you move the picture to Outsports for me? I am unable to do that thing and would be eternally grateful.

He seems to have muscled-out, particularly his thighs, but his other "very special talents" are there for all to see. However, he's "hanging right" rather than his accustomary "left" this season. Maybe the change will do him good!

Great to see him back and in action.

Oh and also check out the two beautiful Triple-Jumpers (IAAF Site), Betanzos and Wilson. Hmmmm!

A great start to the Osaka Championships!

Cheers!

I could try him at home.

11th IAAF championships are underway starting today in Osaka. Powell and Gay's long-awaited showdown is the headliner but will not happen for a few days if at all. They have to get through the heats just like normal humans.

Big eye candy will be the 400m's events for me: Felix Sanchez seeking a comeback in the hurdles and of course Jeremy Wariner seeking to finally break the record of his idol and part-time trainer Michael Johnson in the sprint.

Previous photos of some probable participants:

Felix looking as good in red as he does in anything else

And my fav (today at least) - the hunky triple jumper from Cuba -
Yoandri Betanzos

IPB Image

Superman you must be telepathic. You're reading my posts before I post them. laugh.gif

BTW - in a 100m showdown I would have to give the edge to that surging Gay guy over the showboat Asafa. I think Gay's under less pressure from the homefolks.

Te agradezco, Noumenon! How old are these pics of Jorge Richardson?

Also, isn't Carolina where the great Roberto Clemente is from? And the poet Julia de Burgos and Don Omar? Is Rio Grande de Loíza near there?)

Even though this is a track thread, I have to post a picture of the guapísimo héroe Clemente!

Hi Sportinlife!

Telepathic? Me? .................... SURE I AM!

Thanks for the photos..........specially of my "Main Man" Felix! He "did the business" again today with another win in his semi. I think he could go all the way (I WISH!!!!!!) but will need to watch out for Carter and Clement.

Sad to see Asafa "bottle it" once again..............but all credit to Tyson. He's the King this season for sure.

Glad you rate LJ Van Zyl too! Such a shame that he blew it in his first round heat, after such a fantastic season. I would have predicted him to have been in the medal hunt! Injured? Sick? Who knows!

Looking forward to watching Jeremy Wariner too. Such a cutie and surely destined to break Johnson's World Record.

But check out the Triple Jump Competition tomorrow. Some really HOT competitors.

Thanks once again!

From two years ago. I took classes with him.

Yes, Clemente and Julia de Burgos were from Carolina. Don Omar was born in San Juan, but lived in a "caserío" that's five minutes from where I live, right before he hit the big time.

Río Grande de Loíza's mouth is in, well, Loíza, a town 20 minutes from here, but part of its stream does go through one area of Carolina.
sportinlife
Not surprised that it was hardly the rocka in Osaka that was hyped, with the winning time nearly 1/100th of a second below the Powell world record (Gaitlin's portion is under review due to possible steroid use) , and also more than Gay's PB.

Still I would love to see the headline "Gay Overtakes Jamaican Prince!" splashed on the front pages of Kingston newspapers, especially with Powell being the son of two ministers.

IPB Image

A sidenote: Gay dedicated this race to his imprisoned trainer who was convicted of diverting funds inappropriately to Gay and other proteges. The relationships were so close that he still uses limited telephone time to continue training them from there.

I suspected that would be strong motivation for Gay's performance.
Superman
Hi Sportinlife!

Lovely photo of Tyson Gay. A deserved champion......and good to see a sprinter who can win a World title without all that aggressive, O.T.T. posturing, so favoured of many of the American sprinters of the past........
Greene, Drummond et al.........and our own Mark Lewis-Francis!

Check out the terrific IAAF photo of the Portuguese Triple Jump winner. A beautiful man as well as a superb jumper.

Fingers crossed for a Sanchez win tomorrow.

By the way, why the anti-Powell/Jamaica feeling re your comments on the 100m final? I would be very interested to know.

Cheers!

Superman
Hi Finneye!

Thanks for the great photo-spread from Oskaka.

Hope there's an IAAF picture of my Main Man, Felix Sanchez, gaining a totally deserved silver in the 400 metres hurdles final. Unfortunately, he did make a mess of the first two hurdles in the race; had he not done so, I think he would have been closer to Clement and the battle for Gold would have been very interesting indeed. However, a season's best and he continues to "delight the eye"!!!!

Some fantastic "TALENT" at these games, I am sure you would agree...............some amazing competition as well.

Here's to Track & Field and those beautiful men who grace the sport!

Thanks again!

QUOTE(Superman @ Aug 27 2007, 12:45 PM) *

By the way, why the anti-Powell/Jamaica feeling re your comments on the 100m final?
Actually it was purely anti-homophobia - that peculiarly rabid Jamaican brand that can be as intense as jerk seasoning.

Asafa was an innocent bystander - as far as I'm concerned - caught in the crossfire. And I loved my one visit to Jamaica in the early '80's with a fellow Peace Corps volunteer who was born there and nationalized a US citizen as a child. So nothing against the country either.

But that anti-gay hypocrisy so common there really annoys me no end.

All great photos as usual Finneye - this post and the one you did after it.

But I had to highlight that Evora pic. He is really one of the cutest men in track. Something sexy about him as is often the case with guys of Portugues-African descent.

But back to business:
our Italian friends have blessed us with a new picture of their hero Andrew Howe (I just wonder what you have to do to get such a sexy bib number?)

and one with the French hurdler Ladji Doucouré (I reckon he needs a new jockstrap - and I volunteer to take good care of the old one.)
Superman
Thanks Sportinlife..........

..........for the honest response to my question.

I actually agree with all you said. Living here in London I have come across the very same homophobia from many West Indians who currently live in the capital. Sadly, this feeling extends to even the youngest male members of the Caribbean cohort, here in the city. I wish it were not so, as I have such admiration and respect for the beautiful men that the West Indies produce, particularly in the field of Athletics. Hopefully, Asafa is not tainted with the same insensitivities!

I continue to thoroughly enjoy your informed comments and your terrific taste in athletes!

The photo of Felix Sanchez (submitted by another discerning member of the Site) standing to the side of Clement, is just too amazing for words! The man is a GOD! And can anyone explain how he can run and hurdle with such precision and aggression with that fantastic package totally unsupported! Pheeeew!

Heh, why not check out the superb IAAF photo of long-jumper Godfrey Mokoena (South Africa) qualitfying for the final, yesterday. He is a beautiful man too.

All the best and keep enjoying the Osaka Champs!

Superman UK.

Hi there SFDutch!

Just wanted to offer my sincerest thanks for the totally amazing photo of my Man Man, Felix Sanchez!

What a hunk!

He is just so beautiful from head to toe and particularly around the package area!

What do you think? Is he totally aware of his sexual beauty or is he just naive and innocent?

Whatever he is, he stirs my coffee every time I see him.

A GOD!

Superman UK.
Superman
Hi Finneye!

Thank you!

You continue to delight my eyes!!!!

The photo of Felix was just too much! How can a man be so blessed with every talent imaginable? Stunning face, that cute little moustache and beard, deeply sensitive eyes, a butt to die for and a package that is straight out of the realms of fantasy! Pheeeew! I absolutely refuse to believe he has a girlfriend!

And yet more! The picture of Andrew Howe is the best I have ever seen of him. Totally moody and magnificent. An amazingly beautiful young man.

Enjoyed your very cute kinsman too. Well done!

Have you managed to come across any IAAF photos of those superb Cubans, Robles and Moya....... both of whom competed today. Robles looked fantastic in his 110 Metres Hurdles heat and will surely give Liu a close contest for the gold medal.

Check out the IAAF Website for an excellent picture of South African long-jumper, Godfrey Mokoena, qualifying for the final in Osaka.. My, how that young man has "grown "!

Oh, and I almost forgot....................fight you for Dacoure's jock!!!!!

Cheers!

Thanks for the hints, Superman!

IAAF also displays this superb portrait of Thomas Blaschek in 110m hurdles

QUOTE(Finneye @ Aug 29 2007, 04:22 AM) *
An excellent display of sportsmanship on the part of Sanchez. Makes him all the more sexy.

But what really struck me about that photo is how hairy and sexy Clement's legs are: not so apparent in most photos because he is so dark and cameramen rarely get the light right or have enough "pixels" to show detail on us darker folk.

Thank the techno-gods for digital photography!

And not to worry finneye. The likes of Visa Hungista, whoops, Hongista, will never go unappreciated with folks like you around to enlighten us.

A very touching video of the 400m race, focusing on boyish-looking Marek Plawgo of Poland who got the bronze. Love the ending.

Plawgo seems to be coming in for a three-way with Sanchez and Kerron Clement. But only gets Sanchez. wink.gif
Superman
Hi Finneye!

Great pictures, especially Ioannou HUNK!!!!

Keep up the good work!

Spent the morning watching both Godfrey Mokoena and Andrew Howe competing in the Long Jump final! Wow!! Excellent that Andrew got silver although a slight disappointment that Godfrey was under par! Both such beautiful men.

Loved the photo of Robles but it was "cropped" just around the most sensitive of areas! Shame, it would have been extremely interesting to have viewed his recent development! The contest between him, Liu and Terence Trammell in the final, should be pretty sensational.

Thanks again Finneye!

Back to Osaka for me!

Sportinlife!

Thanks for the 400 metres hurdles video. Nice one!

Agree re Clements legs! Very very sexy.

What I would have given to have been Plawgo, giving Felix a congratulatory hug! In my dreams!

Hope you are enjoying the Osaka Championships as much as I am.

OK sport, I get it! There are lots of hot Americans in Osaka, there's no way to deny it.

But let's take a look at our young friends from the old continent.

The fave of so many of us, Romain Barras, started his Decathlon today

getting balanced for the Shot Put

and leaping far

Bano Traore, equally of France, ran the 110m Hurdles

Is it just me or is he it suddenly getting hotter?

Terrific Osaka photos! Cheers!

Romain Barras is just too sexy for words. Watched him throughout the first day of his Decathlon and could hardly take my eyes off him. Tall, lean, rangey and incredibly horny! Beginning to feel a "hot flush" coming on!

Heh what about a TOP SIX most beautiful athletes from Osaka?

My own choices would be ;

1. Felix Sanchez
2. Andrew Howe
3. Romain Barras
4. Kerron Clement
5. Dayron Robles
6. Wallace Spearman

Care to beat that list? Or anyone else care to list their favourite, on the site?

Back to the TV Coverage of the Championships!

I am "overdosing" on the amazing competition and the attractive athletes. "So Many Men So Little Time!

Thanks Sportinlife!

For the wonderful Osaka photos.

The picture of Kerron Clement is truly stunning. The best I have ever seen of him. What a beauty!

Needless to say, Felix's butt is a joy to the eye! "Stacked" in every department!

Jeremy looked magnificent winning the 400 metres today. Elegance, poise, control and strength. Some athlete, some champion, some man!

Am I the only one who thinks he has lost some weight from his cute face?

Assume you must be enjoying the Osaka event as much as I am.

Hmm, not bad your list, although
Jeremy should definitely be included in the list

especially now that he has learned to smile more than he used to

…whereas Andrew has never had any problem with flashing his magnificent teeth

As for the rest of the list I have to think… mostly about whom to EXCLUDE, not to include in it!

Superman
Hi Finneye!

Thanks for the comments.

Of course Jeremy is a cutie but the competition in these Championships is exceedlingly fierce!

I have to say..............."Goodbye Wallace" as another stud has made an incredible imopression today! Check out the IAAF photo of the German 4 x 400 metres team after their qualification heat. The guy on the left, Gaba, is unbelieveably beautiful.

I was also impressed with every "member" of the Brazilian 4 x 100 metres team that eventually finished fourth in the final. Now I know that Brazil grows a helluva lot of coffee, but they don't do too badly in producing horny men.

So after further (and very difficult!) consideration, my amended Top Six are :

1. F Sanchez
2. A Howe
3. R Barras
4. K Clement
5. Gaba
6. D Robles

.........with apologies to all those other fantastic and beautiful men who have graced the track, field and road at these Championships.

By the way, would you agree with me that at least one of the official photographers for the IAAF at the Osaka event must have a very perceptive interest in recording the feats of attractive men! Thankfully!

Cheers Finneye!

Superman UK

Hi Sportinlife.

All tops? You have to be kidding!!

Thanks for reminding me of the two beautiful Frenchmen, Mesnil and Keita.......the photograph of the latter being absolutely superb. Maybe I will have to amend my Top Six list to a Top Ten!

Great to see Sebrle winning the Decathlon. Such a brilliant competitor and maturing into a beautiful elder(?) statesman of the event.

What a fabulous week of Athletics and wonderful athletes.

Superman UK

Roman Šebrle showed the heart of champion staying well within 6-7 seconds of Maurice Smith in the 1500m to earn the decathlon gold. But he also got a big break, almost literally, since Maurice Smith's right arm injury form and previous meet inhibited his javelin performance. Still Smith really impressed me. Look out for this guy.

IPB Image

And Brad Walker's insistence on short-shorts is awesome

Hope that head design is some sort of lambda symbol wink.gif

Idiot cameramen. Always getting the wrong angles

Nice to see German vaulter Björn Otto stuck with the skimpy bottoms too

And his wiki photo is truly wicked

Maurice's bandaged right arm that screwed him in the javelin

Here's your German 4x100 relay team Superman. I'll have the blonde (second from the right) since you've got dibs on the hunk on the left

Roman is either rubbing the discus for luck or feeling very hungry here. Either way he made an inspired toss

IPB Image

Finally, just cause he's so darn gay-friendly, a gratuitous pic of Romain Barras

IPB Image
Superman
Hi Sportinlife!

Thanks for the photo of the German relay team. Your choice ain't too bad either! In fact the foursome are real "goers!"

Maurice Smith is also a handsome guy. I remember watching him with interest at the last Commonwealth Games and realisng that he was definitely "one for the future." Had no real idea that he would improve so much at these championships. Next year in China perhaps?

Great to see the USA 4 x 400 metres team running their final. Just four men with great ability, great looks and great style! O.K., so they were always going to win Gold, but the consummate manner in which they did so, was terrific to see. Shame the world record eluded them. With greater competition it was surely a team to do it! Jeremy looked as cute as ever, of course.

Gary Reed, the silver-medallist from the 800 metres is also an attractive athlete. What do you think?

Shame the week is over. Now for the Olympics!

Cheers,

Superman UK

OK, the Javelin… let’s get this straight
(I know it is difficult to keep up with all the tiny countries of Europe - don't even try to ask me about the states y'all have over there across the pond...):

This is Tero Pitkämäki, the World Champion by the way, who comes from Finland.

IPB Image

Whereas Andreas Thorkildsen who, by the way, lost, is Norwegian.

(Not that he would be any less hot because of that, but anyway, Andreas lost and Tero won the title …) biggrin.gif

And this is Breaux Greer from the US, who apparently is a very nice character, winning the Bronze

And for repetition, this is all three of them on the podium, With Tero, by the way, as the World Champion tongue.gif

sportinlife
Yea tjmack24, you better be careful misidentifying a Fin. Pitkämäki has been known to aim that javelin off the field at least once in the past. Accidentally of course. wink.gif

In Finneye's photo link "And for repetition, this is all three of them on the podium, With Tero, by the way, as the World Champion", those three look like they're auditioning for the main character in my favorite comic book when I was a kid. Guess Tero gets the part. tongue.gif
tjmack24
My most extreme and sincerest apologies for the mix up, Finneye! I obviously misheard when I was listening to the broadcast. Please aim that javelin away from my head blink.gif

For the uninitiated - what all the fuss is about:

Note how he puts so much of his body into his throw that, unlike the other two competitors, he ends up sliding flat on his stomach for several meters; obviously not far enough to disqualify.

Tero's 90.33m winner at Osaka.

This sport is not for the faint of heart - or the weak of kidney - as Salim Sdiri learns.

Hope the poor guy makes a total recovery

Note that Andrew Howe approaches to assist.
Superman
Hi Sportinlife!

Thanks for the video footage of the Tero-Javelin-Sdiri incident. Had read a great deal about it in the Athletics press, but not seen any recording of it.

Funnily enough, watching the Javelin final in Osaka on Sunday, I was amazed that it was allowed to take place with countless track finals being staged at the same time! O.K., it is a very dramatic and attractive field event, but there are most certainly issues regarding the safety of other athletes and spectators. Was safety not one of the original reasons for changing the javelin specifications some years ago?

Your comments remain extremely interesting and worthwhile.

Cheers!

P.S. What a thoughtful young man Andrew Howe is!!!!! Wouldn't mind him coming to my rescue!
