How come we never hear stories about Pro athletes and their used undergear? I have never heard a story about a pair of underwear or a jockstrap that someone has of a pro athlete.
Do any of you all have any???
Wait...I thought
everyone had some! I know I've got my share of Phillies and Flyers used undergear from buying tickets to their games. If you have a Phillies full-season ticket plan in a club box, for example, you have your choice of Jim Thome, Pat Burrell or Mike Lieberthal. Alas, I only have a partial-season game plan in the lower level so I had to choose between Tomas Perez and Geoff Geary. (Naturally, I chose Tomas. I
hate Geoff Geary.)
It's why you see them running into the clubhouse between innings -- so they can change. That way you get...let's see...9 per game (more if there's extra innings, a little less if a game is shortened due to rain), times 162 games equals 1458 per player, times 25-man roster equals 36,450. Throw in some more for the September callups from the minors, guys who were only with the team part of the year due to roster changes/injuries, and you easily have enough for all the season-ticket plan holders. The rest of them are sold at the Phillies' website on a first-come first-serve basis.
I'm not sure how other teams/leagues distribute their players' used garments.
Oh, and
