I was reading here at Outsports that to some Thome is known as the "Anaconda"
Could Roy Oswalt be not far behind?
Front side viewProfile/side view - wow! (Danm watermark!)
Side view (talking with ump)
Haning' down his right legGreat front viewAbout to throw ball - really bulgingJust like how his thigh looks here :-)
In jeans - no bulge, just niceProfile/side view - talking to Raul ChavezBTW if anybody has that picture of Jim Thome laying on the ground, trainer working on his leg - super cup bulge rising out of Thome's crotch, can you please post it...if available?

Thanks!

I've always been a fan of Oswalt. Not because of his bulge, but because of his ass. He's got a hell of a tail on him.
I think that bulge could be misleading. He's a short, tiny guy, and it seems as if that bulge is just his cup that's riding up.

I'm not sure that's the case.
Roy wears some, relatively speaking, tight pants and the compression shorts must keep the cup somewhat in place.
I say that cup is protecting something Jim Thome-like in there

There are misleading bulges, but I'm not sure that's one. I've noticed his tight pants before. wink The Astros come here for 3 starting Labor Day. I'll have to see if he pitches one of the 3 games and if so, try and get a ticket near the Astros dugout.

Okay, so we know they all wear a cup right?? Could this just be the cup pushing out and causing it to look like a huge bulge?
Has anyone here ever worn a cup before? I haven't. I guess you would need something behind that cup to push it out that far. Hmmmmm.... Are cups made in different sizes?

I think the compression shorts/jockstrap would keep the cup from bulging out. Now shifting to the sides yeah, but I don't think bulging out.
I haven't worn a cup either, but do know that they come in different sizes -- just like what they are protecting

actually the compression shorts and jockstrap dont do much in the way of "holding in the bulge" hehe I have worn many cups having played alot of baseball and still wear them occasionally when playing softball. The cup does cause the bulge to a point. There are different sizes and shapes of cups. the tighter the pants the more of a bulge. Also depends on how the person packs it into the cup...also not every player is going to wear a cup. some just dont. Outfielders tend not to wear cups. and the "bigger" you are the more uncomfortable cups are to wear.

No I meant that the compression shorts/jockstrap would keep the cup next to the skin, without any space between the body and cup, and so what's causing the bulge is the cup being big - protecting something big.
I guess at the distance outfielders are from the batter, the ball is traveling slower (unlike the speedo of it in the infield) and that's the reason they don't wears cups.

The compression shorts hold the cup closer to the skin. However it doesnt keep it in place. The cup tends to slide around or move on you. I jock strap is better but same thing. They can move around some still though as your legs move. They are fairly un comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Like a weekend tournament.

But the cup doesn't move or slide up - away from the body, right? As a prevous poster thought. That's what I meant by the compression shorts/jockstrap keeping the cup close to the body...
So you have a softball tournament this weekend? Good luck!

actually no softball for me this weekend. The gay league ended last sunday for us. We won our division so will be heading to San Diego in August for the world series. Our straight league started last week but it is all weekday games.
Cups in compression shorts or jockstraps dont move up away from the body they tend to be pulled more toward the legs either getting pulled down between some or pushed out as someone runs. thier hard plastic so they are not real flexible with the movement of the body.

Let us know you did in the World Series!
That's what I thought. That the cup Roy is wearing isn't pulled away from his body, as the poster thought, but is big and that's what's causing the big bulge. As in the future Jim "Anaconda" Thome

I had to laugh at today's Chronicle which has an article about Roy being the
