This has always been a favorite, both guys look really hot

And this rear-view weigh-in is a perfect body type of a sort. Those beautiful long legs suggest a free-style rather than greco-roman wrestler.

I prefer freestylers body types but classic greco-roman wrestling matches. Hope to catch some of both in the Olympics.

Personally I'd rather he and the other athletes wore something closer to what was worn in the original Greek olympics. It would eliminate a lot of controversy about advantages gained by techologically advanced outergear. Afterall how much can you do with a jock strap and ear-guards to get a leg up on your opponent?

And imagine how much more stunning the visuals would be. I'm sure casual viewers would increase a bit.

He was a guest on Jay Leno the other night. A great guy. He wasn't nervous at all and he won over the audience with his personality. And a wonderful background story about his family. His mom even showed up at the end.

I noticed this first in Sports Illustrated (8/25/08).

"LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Two Nebraska wrestlers, including one who won an NCAA championship in 2007, have been dismissed from the team after posing naked for videos and photographs on an Internet pornography site.

Paul Donahoe and Kenny Jordan were let go Tuesday, three days after a blog posted images of them taken from Fratmentv.com, a Web site featuring naked or partially clothed male athletes."

The photos were of national champion Paul Donahoe and teammate Kenny Jordan in various states of undress and in the buff. The two did not appear in photos together. Wrestling coach Mark Manning says the incident is under internal review and NU officials are unclear as to whether this could constitute a potential violation of NCAA rules. “We’re investigating the situation now, and until we find out further information we’re not going to make a statement into regards to Paul and Kenny being in our program,” Manning told the Journal Star on Saturday night. Donahoe, a senior from Davison, Mich., won the 2007 NCAA national championship at 125 pounds and was a third-place finisher this past March. Jordan, a junior from Frankfort, Ill., came to Nebraska out of high school before transferring to Lincoln (Ill.) Community College, where he was a 2007 national junior college champion. He transferred back to NU last fall."

A bit different, and not on a mat, but it's still wrestling (even more original than the sport we are more familial with).



It is called Senegalese Wrestling, the most popular sport in Senegal, also called Laamb in local language. Traditionally, young men used to fight as a distraction, to court wives, prove their manliness, and bring honor to their villages. The winner is the one who manages to get down his opponent on his back, by any means. There are no fixed rules of what is allowed or forbidden. The wrestlers often wear special talismans, also called gris-gris, to bring them luck in the fights.
