Does anybody watch Coronation Street? I just happened to catch a bit of tonight's episode on CBC (I think they may actually be showing last year's episodes), and caught a bit of this adorable gay character Todd. I did a google search and found a BBC article about the actor leaving the show and a bit of the character's storyline... but can anyone fill me in. How is it that he's "torn between pregnant fiancée Sarah and gay nurse Karl Foster." eek!

I grew up watching Coronation Street, as everything, and I mean EVERYTHING stopped cold in our home Sunday mornings when it came on TV. Thank God I haven't submitted to the urge to watch it at night on the CBC now, cuz I know I'd get addicted again.

I loathe soap opera's, but CS is different. It's about life on a working class street in London. It's probably the most realistic of all the soaps.

And no, I haven't watched any soaps since Sven was the villan on Another World.!!

I'm more of an "Eastenders" guy, mainly because the PBS station out of San Jose has shown it for a number of years...though I've never watched it with any consistency. I only saw Coronation Street once in my life, in 1990 when I visited a friend who lived in London. Like Lskimoe said, all activity in his apartment came to a standstill while it was on.
