Allen
He was 89 years old.

QUOTE
`\"A lot of my work goes to the center of where we belong - if there is any root to life - because nowadays the family is broken up, and people don't live in the same place for very long,\" Miller said in a 1988 interview.

\"Dislocation, maybe, is part of our uneasiness. It implants the feeling that nothing is really permanent.\"

I hated "Death of a Salesman". smile.gif Dustin Hoffman droves me crazy in that play!!!!! Well, I guess he can team up with Marilyn, again.

I've always preferred "The Crucible" over "Death of a Salesman."

It's funny how relavant his plays are more so these days than any other time in history.

Maybe Miller's passing will encourage theaters around the country to put on his plays, especially "The Crucible". If ever any of his work speaks to the times we live in, this may be it.

Agreed, Allen... I think the same can be said for many of the politically themed albums of the 60s & 70s. Take a new listen at Gaye's "What's Going On" and Wonder's "Songs In The Key Of Life"... Besides being fantastics works of musical art, they are poignant, politcal social commentary at its best; and their social insights are every bit as relevant today as they were back then.

The Dustin DoaS was weak (DH was just too much ... DH). But the '99 B'way revival with Elizabeth Franz and Brian Dennehy was extraordinary. Robert Fall directed. See if you can get a video of that one ... brings it home magnificently.
