...so says the NY Daily News about the "Sex and the City" actress, with a
front-page headline: \"Same Sex In The City\" -- which brings up the question: don't they realize the show is Sex AND the City, not Sex IN the City? wink

Good for her. Wake me when Eric Bana leaves his wife, comes out of the closet, and declares his affection for nerdy, lightskinned African American men.
Scary the media coverage this got here in NY. Daily News entire front page, local NBC station aired the story. Hello, war in Iraq anyone? Election year? Dan Rather? I am sure Cynthia is hightailing it out of the city for awhile.

I personally hate this sort of "lesbian"....I spend half my life trying to explain to people I have no choice in the matter of my sexuality, then I get the "trendy lesbian" thrown in my face.
I use to see these types in my younger years....they'd be out at bars at night pawing on "real lesbians" and then go home that night to f**k their boyfriends.

Apparently enough that you felt the need to reply with an awfully snarky response, especially considering some of the threads/posts you've made. Or more especially, considering your own sensitive reaction to responses to your threads/posts. If you aren't interested, you could simply not reply rather than insult the thread starter. Or maybe stick to updating all of us on Allen's latest Crisis of the Week (because these affect our lives...
how ).
Anyway, I hope CN is happy. She will have a nice career in theater. I've seen her in a couple of things here in New York and she was terrific. She had a great run on Sex and the City, but she wasn't likely to move on to a big mainstream career, so being a lesbian (if she in fact is) won't have a huge impact on her career. Maybe she's going to model herself after Cherry Jones. She's an out and proud, highly successful, Tony award winning NY stage actress.
Now this is not to say Nixon can't do network TV or film character parts, but I wouldn't have expected her to be heading a CBS sitcom even before her "Gator Jamie-fication". More likely she'll play the gal pal or wacky neighbor of the lead.

Come on! Human sexuality in aggregate is fluid, and many people actually have sexual desires (and act on them) that span the spectrum; in cultures outside the US, bisexuality is not uncommon. It exists, like homosexuality in most species. Tell the idiots who don't understand that you have a homosexual orientation that is unchanging; others may have a heterosexual orientation that is unchanging; and some people, like Nixon or Marlon Brando have varying desires. It's not that hard to understand.

Good for Cynthia for dating whomever she wants - male or female.
When I made the comment, I saw no reason to make a huge deal about it. It was silly!! Yet, a few people went down my throat for my "snarky" comment ... during the weekend. When I am not online. That's pretty low & bitchy.
Celebrities, when they come out, don't faze me. I'm happy for them that they have, but I don't see a reason it's newsworthy, but hey! That's just who I am.
Anyway ... let's get back to the topic at hand.

My point was simply that if a topic doesn't interest you, simply don't reply. Imagine what your reaction would have been if I, or any other poster, had made the "and this affects my life...how" remark in your current Jack LaLanne thread or your Lullabies thread or any of your threads.
Sorry about posting when you weren't online. I guess I missed the mandate that we had to clear our posting schedules with you. Maybe you could start a thread letting us know when you will be online each week (an itinerary of sorts!) so the rest of us know it's okay to post. Thanks a bunch!
Just so I'm clear:
Rule 1: Make all threads of interest to Allen.
Rule 2: Only post when Allen is online.
Sorry Joe and everybody else for hijacking this thread. But ugh!
Okay getting back to CN, the media covarge here in NY has been crazy. The tabloid press has been skulking outside her Upper West Side apartment since the story broke. Makes you wonder what it will be like if/when a major sports figure comes out or is outed. Gotta say she's handling it all with alot of class. Not everybody would be able to do that.

Meet Cynthia Nixon's new girlfriend
QUOTE
Meet Sex And The City star Cynthia Nixon’s red-haired gal pal Christine Marinoni, seen here wearing a man's lumberjack-style checkered shirt and a tank top. Cynthia is said to splitting her time between Christine's apartment and her own home in Manhattan, New York. The two first met while campaigning for smaller school class sizes in the city. They share a \"strong commitment\" to improving the lives of children.
Well, instead of being berated for "being snarky" about this story (which is still dumb!), why not just report it to you guys!

Enjoy!!

George, what's wrong with having a "strong commitment" improving the lives of children? I think that it's very noble of both of them.

Ya'll know it's sad that we make such a big deal out of what a person looks like. We then wonder why a good portion of the population has a distorted veiw of themselves.

So what if CN is dating a woman...Samantha went through that phase, why can't Miranda?
As far as ER, I'm upset, I had to wake up very early for work this morning (Friday) so I had went to bed right after Will & Grace, and programmed my VCR to tape ER...from the previews, it looked like she did an amazing job in it...and my F****NG vcr didn't tape!

I guess I gotta wait for the rerun....

Cynthia was terrific on E.R. She played a woman who suffered a stroke and could think, but couldn't speak. We could hear her thoughts (in voiceover) as she was trapped in her own body (she could only move her right eye and arm).
