I love Bob Uecker! Entering the hall not as a player, of course, but as the Brew Crew's broadcaster. He'll join the likes of Red Barber, Vin Scully, Curt Gowdy, Jack Buck and Harry Caray.
Ueck: "Some of those guys were doing games that I played in. Or games that I sat in, I should say."

I second that DCBucky! Uecker could easily be dismissed as a goof, but he was a top notch broadcaster. Well earned!

Count me in as a Ueck fan.He is definitely an original.I'm glad the panel didn't hold that terrible tv show (name escapes me) against him. Oh God-now I remember-it was a tv remake of Mr. Belvedere, with some fat guy playing the Clifton Webb role. eek! Maybe it wasn't a total waste,I think I remeber the oldest son being something of a hottie...

Love the Ueck! He's a real hoot. Milwaukee must be proud.
He also played announcer Harry Doyle in the three "Major League" movies. Quote: "Remember, fans, Tuesday is Die Hard Night. Free admission for anyone who was actually alive the last time the Indians won the pennant."
