On a different note, anyone read the Uncanny X-men.. I used to read the this title(in the 80's) and was thinking of picking up an title, just to see what is happening...
I used to read this alot myself. I've been debating whether or not to pick it up myself. I know that they have changed the rosters of all the X-books, brought Colossus back from the dead (I don't know how) and there are many different x-books.

Mainly I stopped reading when they made Professor X a bad guy and had him destroy most of the world. That and they dismantled the school, and its a mess right now, in my opinion.
Yeah it seems like a lot to catch up...I may just buy the Collections Books...and try to catch up that way...

I have never played WW....now if were talking Jamie Summers Bionic Women, that would be a different story...LOL To this day, I put my hair behind my ear, just to hear things better... biggrin.gif

Not only was Cathy Lee Crosby a horrible actress in that movie, along with the hideous costume, obviously designed by a straight man or woman, but that movie is suuuuuuuper boooooring! It crawled along at a snail's pace!

I just remember her riding on a mule and someone throwing a javelin and her catching it and her putting down a saucer of milk to lure a snake away!

LAME!!!

Occassionally I make those bionic noises when I lift something or I'm trying to hear something too...It totally makes me laugh and feel good.

I don't remember the robot! I'll have to wait for the next season to see...

There was the big government computer - IRA - although I don't remember what that stood for. And IRA has a little roaming counterpart that knew Diana's secret somewhere along the way and I'm almost positive he was called Rover.

IRA (Internal Retrieval Associative)

and just for you G4G...

Rover is under WW's arm:

Cool thread! Rickinto, I believed you mentioned something about Daredevil or a Marvel character coming out of the closet. The only one I know is the character called Northstar, a member of the Canadian version of the Avengers called Alpha Flight. I saw them more as the Northern version of the X-Men. Their series was okay, I wasn't a big fan.
rickinto
Here is a link to CRB, where they have a partial list of Gay X-man or suspected gay, I guess the comicbook superhero world, is just like the Professional sports world.....a lot of speculation, but not many OUT heros. wink

Terry, thanks for the info!....Northstar..a Canadian and Gay eh? Gotta love that combination....

I was a big fan of Dr. Strange. And the whole male contingent of the Legion of Super-Heroes (which included Superboy)! I remember a scene where they showed Lighting Lad in the shower. That Robin’s tights from the TV show, and Steve Austin’s bionic hairy chest were when I started to realize that I just wasn’t like all the other little boys! biggrin.gif

Thank you. That's nice of you to say. It's a couple years old ... I don't have that much hair anymore!!

So Superman has the lead in this poll, but perhaps some of us will want to reconsider our votes. It seems that, in reality, Superman is a dick.

eek! biggrin.gif

I'm not a big comic fan although my little brother collected X-man comics. I thought I remembered Green Lantern or his underling had come out!
I followed the Uncanny X-man series and enjoyed it although they got into a story line that was such a rip off of the Alien movies. Still executed it well! The Jean Grey/Phoenix storyline was good. I hear that is the basis for the third X-men movie!

I agree, inclusion of some X-men is a must. Gambit was my favorite...mostly because he was 'cajun', but I loved Rogue as well. biggrin.gif But I also thought that Iceman was incredibly HOT, oh, and Silver Surfer...and Spidey (who I voted for, love sexy 'scientist'-types!!) and both Human Torch and Mr. Fanstastic...oh, and Arch-Angel...and,

I think I better stop while I am ahead. ohmy.gif

I totally forgot Cpt America! rolleyes.gif

Long, long ago, there was a comic called Kamandi: The Last Boy On Earth. It was drawn by Jack Kirby and featured beautiful long blonde-haired Kamandi, shirtless, muscular and generally in torn Jean shorts. In the post-apocalyptic future he was the last human, except for the mutants and the mutated talking animals. I still have my collection, and he can still share the bomb shelter with me any time.

Had never heard of Kamandi.

In another thread, aleksei posted

I read Wonder Woman, Doom Patrol, Flash, JSA, Exiles and a few others. Wonder Woman is my favorite now.

Huge comic book reader here. I read primarily the Superman or Superman-related DC titles. I also read Marvel's Ultimates, but that's about it for Marvel. Occasionally they'll do something that gets my attention, but I prefer DC.

My partner and I are comic book collectors. Last year we decided to resign from our jobs and become full-time comic book dealers too. Spending 24-hours a day and being a busibess partner with a loved one is very interesting (I think that might be another thread).

Last year we decided we would like to return a recurring comic book convention to downtown Washington. As best as we could tell, there had not been a comic book convention in the District in at least 20 years and maybe over thirty.

We decided in our infinite wisdom to have our first show on January 30, 2005. We worked hard to bring in some great guest artists. As those of you in DC know, snow brings our fair city to a halt and as luck would have it, snow arrived the night before and continued during the day of the show. We thought the show was going to be a bust. I was up the entire night before and thought it would just be us and a few artists.

Despite the weather, nearly 500 people attended our January Washington DC Comic-Con. While a few of our guest artists and venders canceled because of the weather, Frank Brunner, Michael Kaluta, and John Snyder III were all in attendance and busy beyond our 5 PM closing with fans and sketch requests.

Because of the reception that the show had in bad weather, we have decided to host two more Washington DC Comic-Cons this year in warmer weather. Our next show is May 29, 2005. We have confirmed Rich Buckler as attending. (During his career Rich has drawn every major character in the Marvel and DC universes and he created Deathlok, the first cyborg in comics. Rich is also the author of two books, How to Become a Comic Book Artist and How to Draw Superheroes.) We expect to confirm additional artists in the next few weeks.

Are there any other comic book dealers on Outsports? If you are a comic book fan in DC let me know.
Xander
For all you Wonder Woman fans, check out this interview at Zap2it.com with Josh Whedon, the man selected to bring our favorite amazon to the big screen.

Also, check out this article at Comic Book Resources.

One thing's for sure, the new incarnation of WW won't be wearing Lynda Carter's - how did Josh put it - "star spangeled panties". biggrin.gif
