Quite an achievement! Even done without steroids (as far as I know).
Go out and pick up one David Aardsma's rookie card -- he's broken a record held by Hank Aaron ever since his own rookie year in 1954.
Aardsma, a pitcher for the Giants, has displaced Aaron as the first player in the alphabetic list of Baseball Encyclopedia - which includes every MLB player since 1876. Poor brother Tommy Aaron moves down to third.
However, take heart you baseball traditionalists: "Since the Baseball Encyclopedia lists pitchers separately, the name Aaron remains first among position players, even though Aardsma tops the full list."
