So its Tuesday, and that means new Releases of CD, and DVDs

So what are you getting this week, if anything...

Me..nothing....that I know of, but I will venture over to best buy on my way home... wink

Next week though, is "The Incredibles" DVD...

There's a new CD out today by band called 50 Foot Wave fronted by Kristen Hersh of Throwing Muses. Their EP from a while back was awesome. Can't wait to get it. Love her voice. I love Tuesdays because of new releases.

Nothing this week. I'm just 2 weeks away from the new LIFEHOUSE cd.

I'll be buying the new Daft Punk CD next Monday night more out of duty than anything...I downloaded the songs and it's not all that great. Oh well

I saw Kristen Hersh in concert here in NYC just a few weeks ago. She was a very engaging live performer, although honestly I couldn't understand about half of the lyrics she sang. But she told great stories inbetween songs and I really enjoyed seeing her.

Yeah, she was in DC a while back but I was OOT. Her lyrics are a bit esoteric, the new album has something like "Bones are made to be broken." Track one of her debut solo album "Hips and Makers" is a duet with Michael Stipe that has some wonderfully mysterious lyrics ("It's the blaze across my nightgown - It's the phone's ring," "I think last night, you were driving circles around me.") I absolutely adore KH.

Apparently Mercury Rev has some new CD out but all I can find is a pricy import version of it. Thought it was out today.

So there's this new band called Kaiser Chiefs, think they're from Scotland, have heard snippets of their CD and it sounds good, think I will go get it today. I could not be more stoked about upcoming releases from Beck and Weezer.

I still can't decide whether I actually want to buy M.I.A.'s Arular. Regardless, I'm getting the new Beck next Tuesday out of loyalty even though it's not that good.

I'll be buying Ian McEwan's new novel, "Saturday." Loved his last one, "Atonement."
