Herr Tiggee
AL
East - Shmankees
Central - Twins
West - A's
Wild Card - Mariners
AL Champ - Tough pick, but I'm leaning toward Mariners or A's

NL
East - Braves (squeak by Mets by 1 game)
Central - Cards
West - D'backs
Wild Card - Mets
NL Champ - Another tough pick, but I see a Cards-D'backs rematch for NL Pennant

The balance of power seems to have drifted west in both leagues. An Arizona vs. Oakland/Seattle matchup is where my money's on. But I cannot discount St. Louis from possibly gaining revenge on Arizona.
I know there will be those that think the Mets have retooled with awesome talent, but their team chemistry will remain poisoned so long as Valentine runs that club. He is an atrocious drain on morale.
And the Yanks paid way too much for Giambi, IMHO. They are an aging group, a flaw that is eroding their level of play in the same way Atlanta is suffering through.

American League

East-Yankees
Central-Twins
West-Mariners
Wild Card-Red Sox

Angels will be improved and may be a big surprise. A's are big mystery. Still have the pitching but they lost alot of offense. White Sox will also be in hunt, but ultimately fall short. Indians and Rangers will be big disappointments, at least to Indians and Rangers fans. Orioles, Blue Jays, Tigers, Royals, Devil Rays also rans.

National League

East-Mets
Central-Cardinals
West-Dodgers
Wild Card-Braves

DBacks age finally catches up with them. Giants may contend for Wild Card as will Cubs, provided their pitching is healthy. Rockies may also be in the hunt. Phillies out to prove last season wasn't a fluke. I think it was. The Enron Astros will battle Brewers, Pirates and Reds for last place in Central. Marlins, Padres, Expos will have long seasons.

AL Champ-Twins
NL Champ-Cardinals

World Series Champ-Twins

Braves, Mets, Cardinals, Rockies, Yankees, Chisox, Mariners, A's. (Who takes the first place or wildcard, I don't know and can't guess. I'd love to see the Astros and Twins in there but have my doubts.)

Giant fans, if Bonds and Aurilia even have merely *excellent* years, their production will drop precipitously.
