Recently the Chicago Sun-Times and USA Today have started running a new puzzle called 'SUDOKU'.

My boyfriend and I are addicted! It's a 'logic and reason' type of puzzle. It's not a mathematical puzzle, but involves numbers and trying to determine what numbers fit where.

Has anyone come across this or tried it yet?

Here is a Sudoku link, how it looks and how it is played.

CHI,

The husband and I were in Toronto 2 weeks ago and I found Sudoku in the Toronto Star. I am hooked. A great website is websudoku.com.

I can't leave the house in the morning until I complete the LA Times Sudoku (and their crossword puzzle, but that's a long-lasting addiction...)

most addicting game I've played since I couldn't get off of my Nintendo from playing Tetris.

I do the USA today one daily ..... haven't been stumped by one yet, although the 5 star last Friday was close. I came home made an elaborate board and got it figured out.

I've tried Sudoku, but never completed one. Just haven't had the time to finish one of the puzzles. Maybe on my next flight delay (thanks AMFA! rolleyes.gif ) I will.

Instead of the star system to indicate difficulty, the LA Times uses a scale ranging from "Gentle" to "Diabolical." You have to love a puzzle that can be called diabolical!

Life Magazine is stuffed in with some advertising circulars in my Phila. Daily News every Thursday. This week there was a cover blurb: "Try the new Sudoku puzzle." Inside, accompanying the puzzle, the text begins "You asked--loudly--and we listened." They'll have one each week now. I might try it.

Update: did it in less than 20 minutes. wink
