Has anyone else tried this? Everytime I click on the redeem logo for the Pepsi promotion, the computer is unable to access the iTunes music store and then my computer crashes. It hardly seems worth it ... I'd rather just pay 99 cents for the song!
Curious as to whether or not it's me, if there's simply a glitch in the site today, if it's been happening to others ...

Wait! It works! You just have to give the process a good half an hour while you wait. I guess because of the volumn of users? I dunno.
But Damien Rice's "The Blower's Daughter" will soon be mine!! Must ... hold ... on.

G, I've had no problems with the Pepsi itune promo. I've already "won" 3 songs. I sitll have one more to go.
And do a search for the playlist "Duck House A Go Go"...it's mine so you can take a little peak into my mind!

It took me almost two hours. Crazy. But I'm listening to my song at long last. I love this song ... it opens the movie "Closer," which is how I heard it, and I love it. I may have to investigate Damien Rice further.
BUT I will definitely peak at your playlist, MDB. Should I be scared??

I gave you a Five Star rating, MDB!!! ha ha. I almost demoted you for the Liza, though ...
Scissor Sisters rock - that whole album - but "Filthy/Gorgeous" is a great song. And I wouldn't mind hearing JC sing about sex dreams all day long!!
Hubba hubba!

They claim 1 out of every 3 bottles is a winner of a free download. Well, so far I've bought a dozen or more over the last 2 weeks or whateve and so far I've gotten one winner.
I haven't tried to redeem it yet so I can't comment on the time frame or anything. But last year, when I won quite a few, I had no problems. In fact, it led to my buying some songs now and then, and eventually was a factor in my buying the iPod instead of another music player.

Why thank you G! And don't knock Liza's "Results" cd. I like to pull that one out ever couple of years as it brings back memories. It's Liza meets Pet Shop boys!

A friend dragged me to see Liza in concert a couple years ago - before she was beating David and he was still willing to promote her. She had a guest rapper come in for "Liza with a Z" and I've been scarred for life.
My newly downloaded free tune won't transfer from my music library to my iPod. It's so frustrating and makes no sense. Everything else works fine and there's no reason for it not to work, except that nothing comes for free and I'm paying in pain and suffering.
But since you boys seems to be having no trouble, well, I suppose there's a *slight* chance it could be that I'm inept or incapable on the computer. wink

G4G, are you using the docking station and signed into itunes when you downloaded your free song? Because the song should have gone right into your library and into your ipod.
Maybe you need to convert the song you downloaded into a MP3 format and then transfer it into your ipod.

Good news, everyone! wink I'm now up to 10 free songs I've won from this promotion -- more than last year! Woo-hoo!
...and here they are. Let's call it "The Freebie Mix":
The Doors-Light My Fire
Donovan-Sunshine Superman
Etta James-At Last
The Flamingos-I Only Have Eyes For You
Phranc-Mrs. Brown You've Got A Lovely Daughter
George Michael-Flawless (Go to the City)
Blur-Girls & Boys
Will Young-Hey Ya
Lynn Anderson-Rose Garden (I'm ticked off at this because it's clearly a
re-recording and not the original version)
Caesars-Jerk It Out
(and no trouble redeeming the free songs, by the way -- a little slower than usual last night but that was all)

I think I'll pass on crappily encoded songs with BS digital rights management when I can download them in high quality non-protected formats for free...

The problem with the plan here fellas is that you have to drink Pepsi, or Coke if it mattered. Just give me some cold press coffee and forget the Red Bull kids stuff.
You have to like corporate beverages and corporate music.
Sorry, there must be something wrong with me, nevermind. They're coming to take me away. Hee hee ha ha ho ho. Those nice young men in those clean white coats... wink
