We got this sent to us - could be fun . . .

Casting gay singles, couples, and their friends for the all-expense-paid trip of a lifetime!

Bunim-Murray Productions, creators of MTV's The Real World and Fox's The Simple Life are teaming up with LOGO, the world's first gay network, to present The Cruise.

Taking place aboard a luxury cruise ship, "The Cruise," promises fun, sun, and romance for all those aboard.

To audition, simply show up at our casting call for a brief interview with one of our casting directors. Bring your friends (gay or straight), partners, and anyone else you'd want to share a great vacation with. You must be over 18 to apply.

On Saturday, February 12, 2005 from 10am-6pm, we will be holding Casting calls in the following locations:

Union Station Video Cafe
630 North High Street
Columbus, Ohio 43215

The Gay & Lesbian Community Center
208 West 13th Street
New York, New York 10011

We would like to meet all types of gay singles, couples, and their friends, but we are especially interested in the following: Couples trying to rekindle a romance in trouble. Couples wishing to stage a marriage or commitment ceremony, or celebrate an anniversary. Couples having their parents "meet the partner" for the first time. A "June/December" romance. Singles who are newly "out" and looking to explore the scene for the first time. Friends with a secret (or not-so-secret) crush on each other. And remember, your straight friends are also welcome to apply!

Please call 1-800-997-6907 for further details or log onto http://www.bunim-murray.com/casting/index.htm or just go to www.bunim-murray.com and click on "casting"

They forgot "any other story that we can distort and exploit for our own storytelling purposes."

Have you seen the current Real World crew? If you ask me, it's not how much but where it's located. smile.gif

I just checked the LOGO-tv website and now they're saying that they launch on June 30, 2005. In their announcement on July 23, 2004, they said they would launch on February 17th, 2005. Why the delay?

Edit: found an article from The Advocate on the LOGO launch.

The good thing is that most of us are too boring, we live well-adjusted, fulfilling and happy lives without drama, we are just too normal, and so we are uninteresting and would not be good candidates for a reality show.

BRAVO, apparently the leader in reality gay programming, did a special a couple of years ago where they filmed gay men on an all-male cruise. It was an interesting special watching guys try to hook up and not. So this entry by Bunim is not all that creative, it seems.

If I'm gonna be on a reality show, I want to be the star. None of this large cast nonsense. Just me and a few choice satellite players, thank you.

I'm ready for my close-up. biggrin.gif

I hope it's as ood as that Cuba Gooding movie form a couple of years back! that's entertainment! rolleyes.gif

My life is "gay" and "reality" quite enough for my liking.

It's funny how down most of us seem to be on this reality craze but the reality show threads continue to thrive. So I guess while we don't want to humiliate ourselves on one of these shows we don't mind watching others do it so much! biggrin.gif
