I just heard that Conor McPherson, one of Ireland's great young playwrights, made the American premiere of his play "Shining City," Tuesday in a Manhattan Theater Club production at the Biltmore Theater in NY.
If you have not seen any of this young mans work I suggest you run to the nearest box office.
He is very good.
"Shining City is about, among other things, loneliness, loss of faith, and redemption (What did you expect? He IS an Irish Catholic).
Great work, and a departure from his earlier pieces.
Saw "Rum and Vodka," at the Dublin Theatre festival, and "The Weir" when it was in NYC in 1999?/2000?
Not for those who don't like to think.
Highly recommended!
