I don't know if any of you have caught the 2005 Dr. Who series on the Sci-Fi channel but it has a hunky gay (or at least bi) character named Capt. Jack. He's portrayed by the beautiful Scottish and openly gay singer/actor John Barrowman.

He's was only in four episodes in the first season (which is all we've gotten to see here in the States) but I guess he is so popular that he's getting his own Capt. Jack spin-off called Torchwood.

I really enjoy the show. It's got some decent acting with humor and interesting story lines. If you liked the old Dr. Who's, you probably like this too.

I recall seeing Barrowman as a blond singing Nazi in The Producers, and one of Cole Porter's tricks (singing Night and Day) in De-Lovely. He's a handsome fella with a solid voice. I have no knowledge of his other attributes.

He's done a lot of theatre work, including Anything Goes, Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon, and Putting it Together, and has a couple of CDs of show tunes.
