HEH! I won't post any spoilers but tonight's episode is GREAT! TONS of drama in the first 20 minutes in the episode.
In developing news ... Peter is a jackass! Wow, he is the biggest douchebag that has ever been on this show. What a condescending son of a bitch. OMG ... wow, *grin* ... the quotes from this episode are good.

I agree with you about Peter. What a dick. His girlfriend has been pretty much right on in the comments she has been making about him it seems. India looked like a riot. The driving scenes were crazy. It would be a challenge to get behind the wheel there. Kentucky and his girlfriend were soooooo lucky. I thought for sure they were goners. But, I really would be shocked if they were able to go from last to first.....personally I wouldn't mind if the next couple to go would be the beauty queen bimbos.

Great, revealing, episode last night. While I am glad that Peter is gone, whatta dick, I am sad that Sarah is too. She learned alot about the dick, and now hopefully can find someone in life thats a better fit for her. I loved the robotic jockey that " lightly" whipped the camel. Too funny. I was thinking too that the models were just about toast, but in the end, Kentucky got lucky! I really didn't expect them to go from last to first....good job.

Well I'm glad Peter and Sarah are gone. She used her handicap when ever it suited her purposes. Did you notice the handicap parking sign hung on the mirror of their SUV in Kuwait. It was from California I think. Did they actually believe it would serve a purpose overseas? Loved it when it was over and she basically said he was not a nice person and he was looking off into the night as if he wasn't even hearing her. And what was with the woman who didnt know what a mosque was, calling it a mask, and then referring to it as a church. The peolple in Kuwait seemed very helpful to everyone although I thought the Bama ladies might kidnap one guy to keep him from helping the beauty queens. Thought it was nice of the Cho brothers to basically fix it so the Kentucky's would get the fast forward. Always a good idea to keep the weakest link around as long as possible. Loved it when everyone seemed to get lost. Now we have to get rid of Miss NY and Miss California. They are pretty much living up to every possible stereotype.

A few comments (SPOILERS AHEAD) ...
I wonder if a few of the teams from this season have heard of a program called 'Hooked on Phonics' ... I swear, certain places are NOT that difficult to say. Mauritius. MAUR-IT-IUS ... *shakes head*. I know that the show doesn't have America's best and brightest, however ... that was pretty sad. I think that the Cho's were the only team to say it correctly.
I wish that teams would just stick with a Roadblock and take their chances with a needle in a haystack task, ESPECIALLY when your team is in LAST place and you know that, by switching tasks, you are further dooming yourself to LAST place. Of course, navigational issues can occur (especially with most of the teams this season), but you should take some chances and hope for the best. Team Kentucky needs some major luck to stay in the Race because they are the weakest team in the Backpack, let alone the entire race. Mary is a shrieking harpie and I desperately hope that she goes hoarse. I think that they are good people, but they are VERY lucky to still be in the race.
As much as I dislike The Barbies, they seem to be great navigators and they are surprisingly strong racers, although they have a knack for struggling on some easy tasks ... such as driving a car without getting into a fender bender, rowing a boat, keeping their clue dry and filling up sacks to the dashed line, *shrug*. I wish that there was a reunion show for TAR because there is absolutely NO love loss between Team Barbie and Team Bama.
Team Model has to be the worst Alpha Male team in the history of TAR. I swear, they can't navigate to save their lives. They are reasonably attractive, but ... *shrug*, scruff isn't a good look for either pretty boy. Tyler needed a dose of shut the f**k up after they secured their tickets at the ticket counter.
*scratches head* Team Bama ... meh ... they irritate me. I like some 'tude and they had good reason to get snotty at the ticket counter, however, *shrug* ... more than any other team, they seem to be completely incapable of doing anything on their own. (Yes, I'm including Team Kentucky here.) I know that teams are allowed to find help when necessary, but they would be COMPLETELY screwed if they had to do ANYTHING on their own.
Hell ... most teams on this season irritate me. Rob & Kimberly are going to come to blows at some point. She is INCREDIBLY passive-aggressive and Rob is just a time bomb waiting to explode. I laughed and laughed LOUDLY when he fell on his face after they arrived at the Post Office.
*scratches head* Honestly, the only team this season who I'm really fond of are The Cho's. I commend them for helping out the Back Pack and I genuinely believe them when they say that they aren't helping out the Back Pack to give them an easy win if, by grace of God, they all get to the Final 3, however ... they are strong enough racers to completely blow away the competition. Godwin is a f**king hottie to boot ... RAWR!
I love the clues this season, I love the locations, I just don't really care for most of the teams this season, *shrug*.

I like the new "marked for elimination" penalty for non-elimination legs. Previous seasons' penalties -- take away their money, take away their backpacks -- added a little (very little) drama, but didn't directly affect a team's placement or likelihood of elimination. This is a much better solution.
Last time they were "marked", Team Kentucky was handed the Fast Forward by the Cho brothers, and managed to make the cut (forcing Peter and Sarah's blessed departure). FF on the next leg? Somehow I don't think so... but then, TAR has surprised me before.

I haven't had a chance to watch last nights show yet, as I recorded it, but as much as I love this show, and I do LOVE this show, the teams this season are no where near as antagonistic as say the last couple, but, having said that, it hasn't kept me from watching it.

Finally a leg involving swimming...and a shirtless Godwin. ~drool~ It seems that in past races, the swimming activities have taken place in an earlier leg. I was worried we wouldn't get any shots of racers in swimwear. I knew TAR wouldn't disappoint!
And I agree with the non-elimination penalty. It's so much better this year. In the past, they would lose everything, and the first 3 minutes of the next show would be that team begging for money at hotels and airports. It got predictable, and it did little to impede their progress in the race.
And what's with the crossroads twist next week? I can't wait to see that. Anyone have any ideas what that is???

Remind me the next time one of the two team doublemint, is behind the wheel. Good Lord. And those cars! What are they made out of egg crates?? Scary dangerous. Looked like they were taking some serious chances getting behind the wheel....there were a couple of SERIOUS meltdowns this week, wasn't there? The one with Kim/Rob was bad ass, but I enjoyed the airport line scene between the blond bimbos and Alabama....I don't want them to be the winner, the blondies.....

I thought tonight was an awesome episode full of silly comedy. They barely did anything in this leg of the race in Madagascar but were able to pull to a full-hour and not be so boring.
I am also convinced if you look at Rob/Kimberly at the beginning of the episode with how open and chipper they are, (after the last episode where they are at each other's wits end) that they had some awesome make-up sex in the 12 hour "mandatory rest time" between episodes. Wonder if other teams through the seasons get that luxury?

There is no way I would have been able to do that 'Fast Forward'! I'm always amazed at how easily Reality folks (Survivor, Fear Factor, Amazing Race....) are able to eat ANYTHING!!! Eating cows lips, with hair and teeth still attached, would be completely out of the question for me!!

Man, talk about earning your money! This episode was gnarly TOUGH. And the comment from one of the blondies about Finland, " isn't that where wooden shoes come from?" was priceless!! NOT!! The swampfest looked awful. The teams had my sympathy, and then only to find out, they are still racing and no rest period yet..Damn.

This whole season has been physically brutal, starting with the climb up the Great Wall in the first leg.
I still can't tell them apart but I'm rooting for the blondes now, and want Rob & Kimberly to get the next Philimination.

Some news on the nest (11th) TAR:
QUOTE
CBS has confirmed weeks-long speculation that the 11th round of The Amazing Race will be an all-stars edition featuring cast members from previous contests.
Though the Eye is thus far mum on the actual roster, sources tell Variety that Rob and Amber, Joyce and Uchenna, and David and Mary from Kentucky are likely to make the cut, while neither famous feuders Jonathan and Victoria, nor fan faves Chip and Kim, are expected to be back.
Great, more Rob and Ambuh!

Glad to see the Beauty Queen's gone. Did they seriously think the model boys would willingly give up 1st place to save them from elimination. They sure did have a sense of entitlement! Won't be missing them at all. Tired of Bama too. As for Rob & Kim, well I had to laugh when she got hit with the tomatos and freaked out. If they are foolish enough to marry I hope they have adivorce lawyer onj speed dial. I'm cheering for the model boys, aka Team Rehab.

Dec 5 2006, 04:15 PM
I was disappointed that the Beauty Queen's lost, but they were truly victims of their own success. They were probably one of the strongest female teams in the history of TAR, although ... they fact that they couldn't really navigate on their own caused them major issues once they reached Barcelona. I don't see how someone wouldn't know how to read a map ... it should be common sense.
'Bama and Rob & Kimberly took advantage of a simple detour since I would have thought that it would be pretty obvious to find a tomato that had a clue inside since it would be characteristically different than the other tomatoes, sans stem and such Having said that, if a little SOB would have pelted me with a tomato, I would have gone apeshit on their ass.
I truly hope that the Models/Addicts don't win the finale. Either of the other 2 teams would be fine with me. I've grown to like Bama, but they have to be the least athletic team to ever make the finals of TAR. Unless there is a roadblock before the dash to the finish, they are going to lose and lose badly in a foot race. *shrug*
Finally, I can't wait for the All-Star version of TAR. I would LOVE to see if they implement some rules that discourage teams from getting Fern's to do their navigation for them a la the Beauty Queens.

I just got done watching the show. Surprised that no one has posted anything. I must say I was deeply disappointed with "Bama." In short, they blew it. While at the one airport, they should have pressed for tickets, help, assiatnce, SOMETHING, instead of giving up, and driving to the other airport. That cost them. I was glad the DA's won (boys), but I was rooting for Bama. Rob and Kim seemingly took 2nd place pretty well, considering all the blowouts they had throughout the Race. All in all another good installment in my opinion. Not the best, but a good installment. As always, I look forward to the next Amazing Race!

It was a shame after a show/season of excellent weather, that it was so dreary in New York. Also dissappointed that once they got to the States, it was nothing but a big run through the streets of NYC and a cab ride.
Surprised that they didn't note on the show that the Finish Line was across the river from West Point.

I don't know if Bama could have done anything else at Orly. IIRC, they attempted to purchase tickets to NYC at the ticket counter and they were told that all flights to NYC went out of Charles de Gaulle and that they couldn't purchase tickets for that flight at Orly. Their biggest issue was assuming that Orly was the preferred airport to purchase the tickets. Granted, they could have tried to see if they could have connected from Orly to a different airport ... London, perhaps ... and taken their chances there. *shrug* However, hindsight is 20/20.
I'm just bummed that the Models/Addicts aka *insert random team of Alpha Males here* won again. It woud have been nice if there would have been another task at the finish line, which would have prevented the home stretch from being a foot race to the finish. Tyler and James weren't the sharpest tools (nor the prettiest tools) ... hell, they were probably the dullest tools in the shed (any and all puns intended).
Only 2 months until TAR All-Stars!

I actually was pleased with the final winners of the 3 groups that were left in the Final 3.
Kim/Rob, who I called Scream Machine, could have gone home week 1 and I could have cared less.
Bama was not worthy of winning (my opinion LOL) because they were just proof that all you need to do is be the not last team in order to make it to the end-line.
I liked the guys- they were a good team who played well together and I hope that they will do good with their money- we will see- but to see that they struggled to get off drugs together to making a million dollars on TAR is a nice story- they werent the typical male/male winners.

I heard about the Amazing Race All Stars. As it turns out that I was on Guam for business this week and got to see a few of the All-Star teams complete in some challenges. For the sake of integrity, I won't mention what teams I saw but I did get to see them do the road blocks. It was interesting to see the behind the scenes part of it all just for a few minutes of footage. They did their competition on the AF base there and it was pretty cool. We were not allowed to take pictures for obvious reasons. I can't wait to see the episodes air in Feb to see how it turns out.

Rumor has it (from Return of the Racers on CBS.com) that the All-Star season coming in February could be the last season of TAR on CBS, even though they're still taking applications for Season 12.

I also hope that this won't be the last season of TAR. I love competition and travel and this show intertwines both of interests incredibly well. Granted, there are a few things that I would love to tweek, but other than the ill-fated family edition, I have avidly followed the show since the middle of Season 1 and will be depressed when its run ends. Hopefully, they'll release the list of competitors soon since there has been much speculation about who is and is not racing this season.
Thanks for the email chevy, =) ... It was incredibly helpful. While I could just wait a few months, I always like to open my Christmas presents early.
