http://www.theultimatefighter.tv/index.phpWell, I *was* looking forward to this, thinking it would just be UFC matches. But now Spike is advertising it as a reality-type show where the fighters share a house in Las Vegas. Something tells me there is going to be more "Real World/Big Brother" type action ("Who stole my pillow!?") instead of action in the ring.
At least Randy Couture is one of the coaches. That is reason enough to watch.

You should still be looking forward to it. It's gonna be awesome!

HOLY COW!
Hey Outsporters if you're gonna watch just one reality program. This MUST be the one!
I saw the first episode on Spike TV tonight. It's about 16 mostly young men, all aspiring Ultimate Fighters, who train and live together at a complex in Vegas. One by one they will be eliminated from the competition. They're all in good shape. When they check in the first night they discover they have been provided with lots of beer and alcohol. And one of them gets very drunk.
The trainers look real tough and intimidating. This program looks like it's going to get very interesting if you know what I mean. wink
Did you see the coming attractions for the next episode? One of the studs comes down the stairs wearing extremely tight shorts, showing a HUGE package. He starts bending over, sticks his booty out and says, "this is how I stretch".
I'm new to Spike TV. What kind of network is this? And what happens when straight dudes who like Ultimate Fighting tune in to watch this program?
This is awesome. lol...

Spike TV (the former TNN, for whatever that's worth... probably about $.02) bills itself as \"the first network for MEN\". Guess they weren't kidding!

While this appears to be a reality program that targets the young straight guy who is into fighting and wrestling it most definitely has gay overtones. I can't wait until the next episode!

I'm not normally a fan of these so-called reality shows. But I watched the first episode of Ultimate Fighter and I am totally hooked!!! I'm just imagining the wonderful smells that eminate in that house after the guys come back from training. Umm Ummm Good!!

Based on those photos, the two who most ring my bell are Josh and (the appropriately named) Forrest (of orange hair). And their on the same team. Wish it were my team. wink

I think in the next episode they will have another drinking game. So here we have beer, alcohol and 16 incredibly handsome, toned studs trapped together inside this complex. Now did the producers actually think there would be no extra-curricular activity going on?

Check this link:
http://www.spiketv.com/shows/series/index....ultimatefighterThere is a schedule at the bottom of the page but it doesn't tell you when they air the new episodes because I noticed Saturday night was a rerun of the epsidode from Friday night.
Sounds alot like MTV's 'Tough Enough' which also had plenty of eye candy.

And sadly Tough Enough was like a 5 minute part of Smackdown every week this last go around. It sucked! But on a related note to this thread, the latest Tough Enough winner was a cage fighter named Daniel Puder...cute, tight and blond!

Until now I thought all of these men were brought in off the street to learn and train to be a fighter. But some of the names started sounding familiar to me. And sure enough most, if not all of these men, are already pros. You can find the fighters on the Sherdog website. I already found Diego Sanchez and Bobby Southworth.
So in the most recent episode Team Liddell wins another challenge (btw, that was a boring and dumb challenge) And from team Liddell, middleweight Diego Sanchez is chosen to fight Alex Karilexis. You can see this is a mismatch because Sanchez is in better shape and he sports a 12-0 pro record. So quickly into the match he applies a "naked choke hold" to pin Karelexis and so Mr. Karelexis has been booted out of the house.
Coming atractions for the next episode has them all going on a trip to Vegas. It looks like many of them will have too much too drink. Even the clean cut level headed Josh shocks me as he has to be carried out in his drunken stupor.

There I was minding my own business on a Sunday afternoon flipping through the channels bemoaning the fate of no NFL, NHL, MLB to watch...when I stumbled upon this! OMG. How about the weigh in scene when Diego literally strips to his skivvies, or when Alex shaves his torso and legs in preparation for the fight? Wow. Give me this over Arena football any day.

Hey everyone in Chicago check it out! One of the contestants will be on TV and we can call in and ask questions. Got this info from The Ultimate Fighter's website:
"Want to let everyone in the Chicago area know Stephan Bonnar will appear live on CLTV News Saturday night, February 26, 2005.
Stephan will appear on "Sportspage Live at 9". The show is CLTV's one-hour sports call-in show airing nightly at 9:00 p.m. Stephan's interview will take place in the second half-hour of the show. He should be on set at about 9:40ish at night. We'll have him up for two segments. He'll be there to promote TUF and the sport of MMA. YOu can call in and ask him a question! The number is (630) 575-8255. It's a rare opportunity to ask one of the TUF cast members a question live. Please watch and call to show your support. Should be fun!
I'm really trying to help get TUF and MMA get some positive mainstream coverage. It'll be great to get good questions on the air. This is an excellent opportunity to let all the "Big 4" sports fans learn how exciting MMA is.
CLTV is the Tribune-owned 24-hour cable news station covering the Chicagoland area. Unfortunately it is only available to viewers with Comcast Cable. If you are on a different cable provider or use satellite TV you won't be able to tune into CLTV. Good reason to find someplace that does carry it."
I'm gonna call in and ask a question!

Has anyone been watching this season? What do you think?
I have been watching too many other shows to keep up with this seasn, but due to a "mini" marathon which is currently airing on Spike, I have been doing some "catch up."
I have only watched the first two episodes and I do know that my favorite is or was Jeremy May because I think he is hot. I am disappointed to learn that according to the SpikeTV website, he was eliminated.
I must now find a new favorite. I think it might be Matt Brown. I like the goatee and the hair on his chest. He is very masculine.
Rampage is very likeable and funny. He seems like a really down to earth guy.
I'm watching this season (as always). Matt Brown and Dan Cramer are the hot boys for me. Everyone else pretty much looks like an ex-con! And, as I've mentioned elsewhere on the board, the cauliflower ears kinda gross me out.
Forrest Griffin has the best personality in the UFC but Rampage also seems like a great guy.
My bigest problem with the show is the guys get lost. You never know who's who except for 2-3 of them.
Did you catch Amir standing around in white boxer-briefs when Griffin shot Rampage w/the net gun?

TC,
I like the ex-con look. That is what makes them hot for me.

I agree.
I have only seen pieces of this week's episode. I will remember to look for that scene when I watch an encore presentation tonight.
Dedric,
In my day the 'ex con' look was called 'rough trade'. I usually go for that but this season I'm not finding anyone that hot besides Matt, Dan and Amir.
My favorite scene from UF happened last year: they were talking to Matt Hughes and in the background, one of the fighters slipped off his shorts and showed the world (inadvertantly) his jockstrap.

Has anyone been watching the current season, The Ultimate Fighter Season 9: United States vs. United Kingdom?
I like the UK team. They are more fit, focused, and just more attractive. My favorites are Andre Winner and James Wilks. They both have a very bi-racial look to them and their bodies are flawless.
The US team is too fractured, immature, not focused, and in not as good of shape as the UK team. My favorite fighter on the US team is Jason Pierce.
I'm watching. As I've become more a fan of MMA, I realize the fights on TUF are pretty low-quality (obviously the guys are much less-experienced). TUF has also made me realize when it comes to tattoos, less is more. I think they've gone to two fights per episode because the house shenanigans are just plain boring and juvenile.

I'm also glad that they're playing two fights per episode.
Did you guys see Cameron's win? I wasn't expecting the wrestilng-groung skill he displayed. Granted he is VERY green still but with good instincts. I also was impressed how humble he was before and after the fight. If he had better stand-up he could win this thing.
...And for the record my two "favorites" are Jason and Santino. Martin Stapleton a close third...
