So we are closing in on the 2/3 mark of the season. In each league you can pick 4 teams you think will be in the playoffs. Give us your take.

The viewers have spoken. Consensus thus far:
AL
1. ChiSox
2. Anaheim
3 (tie). Boston/NYY
One would assume that the WC consensus is the #2 in the AL East.
Just missing out on the WC - Minnesota
NL
1. St Louis
2 (tie). Atlanta/San Diego
WC - Washington
I was suprised to see 3 people (out of 16) pick the Mets.

Just my heart talking.....and the fact that it's still very wide open in that divison.....a bit of a free for all.

With Oakland now tied for the wild card lead and 5 1/2 out of the division lead, are people still voting against them?
AND they are coming home, home games 3 of the next 4 weeks.

Agree on Oakland and it shows the East Coast bias in sports since many people have long gone to bed before the result of the latest As game. They have the best record since late May and great pitching. I see them either getting a solid wild card berth or winning the division. I say either Boston or the Yankees will miss out.

Billy Beane returning to his genius status after a short haitus...I just wonder if they can keep this pace up for the remainder of the season. A great run nonetheless.

The A's have got a September in which they face the Yankees, Indians, red sucks, Twins, Angels, and Rangers (home and away). Their only breather will probably be against Seattle. It's a long season with an untested pitching staff (with the exception of Barry Zito) when it comes to the September crunch time. I have nothing against the A's, but every time they hit a good winning streak, the media proclaims Billy Beane a genius. They've had some good teams in the past with some ace pitching and they still couldn't get it done in the playoffs. The Angels will once again own the West--and I still like the wildcard coming out of the East or the Central.

I completely agree. I think the Angels will hold on to first, but it'll be tight. I think the A's will be the wild card, Chicago will win the Central, and either the Yankees or the team from New England will miss the playoffs completely. Can you guess which of those two I think will miss?

Since May 30th the A's are playing at a .734 clip -- I don't think they can possibly keep that up the rest of the way, but no other team seems able to stay that hot for that long, so they may not have to.

Why only one team from the NL West represented in the poll? With that logic, everyone should be voting for the Padres...
