I agree. Evil Coby has to go. And what was the deal with the shirt-turned-into-a-sarong thing during the team selections? What an idiot.

UGH, Yet another example for America to see.
A limp wristed, lazy, queenie, gay male!
Coby was just embarrassing in the reward challenge and then to add insult to injury, Jeff P. has to mock him. (In Jeff's defense he deserved to be mocked) The shot of him running in his thong-like underwear was not a high point either! Please can they lose the next immunity challenge and vote this embarassment off!
However, Brandon trying to shoot the bow & arrow is still the gayest moment on Survivor
Think the camera man is gay? Hope everyone caught the slow pan over Jeff the contestant. Started at the neck then slowly panned down paused at his nipples then went to crotch then ( I still can't believe it) zoomed in on his stomach where his underwear was riding up above his shorts!

I was glad to see Angie redeem herself in the reward challenge. That should make her safe for awhile.
Jeff may be nice eye candy, but is playing the game very stupidly. You never buddy up with someone like Kim. You are instantly viewed as having an alliance with said snuggle partner, and then defending her from being booted. I predict he doesn't make the merge.
What I want to know is where was Greg this episode??? Did he even help pull the box in the immunity challenge?? I think Koror made a huge mistake choosing Greg and Tom to throw the bags during reward.
I am really starting to like Tom! I think he is my new favorite. I think Caryn may be the first from Koror to get booted when Koror has to go to tribal council.

Seriously. Is he modeling his game play on Bahstin Rahb (ew...) and Ambuh? Does he think no one else on his team has seen this show before? Dumb, dumb, dumb... But that's hardly a surprise. Like most candy, he's pretty but there's not much nutritional value.
And granted Ashlee didn't do much, but I would have voted off the equally useless Kim to put the kibosh on the Jeff-Kim snugglebunnies.

I think maybe Ashlee asked to go home. It looked liked it was lining up for 4-4 vote and her group were all gonna vote Kim. Then everyone except Ibreham voted for Ashlee. Does anyone talk to Ibreham? 2nd tribal council where he seemed clueless.
Jeff is great eye candy. I hope he stays around for a bit. But now that Jeff P. called them both out they will either break apart or she'll get booted. Stephanie rocks! She pulled that locker as much as Jeff did.

I guess what we did not see in the editing (according to some of the spoiler sites) is that Ashlee asked the folks in her alliance to vote her out. Coby's performance in the Reward Challenge set back images of gays in sports about 100 years! He had plenty of inept company, though -- Katie's inability to swing across a shallow pit, Caryn's complete lack of balance, etc.
With so many weak members on Kuror (Caryn, Coby, Katie, Willard), Ulong should be destroying Kuror right now. But the lack of teamwork on Ulong is KILLING them. So long as the Ulong members don't work together, the Tom/Ian/Janu troika will keep the Kurors afloat.

Once again, the Korors take the fight to the Ulongs in the Immunity Challenge. Bobby Jon and Stephenie were impressive in the challenge but the rest of the tribe was completely useless. Jeff, Kim and Angie bowing out almost immediately, James showing less strength and grit than Stephenie and Imbrehem displaying a nice body but no endurance (he let Bobby Jon carry 80 lbs!)
I'll say it again -- Ulong should be killing Koror with all the dead weight on Koror (Caryn, Coby, Katie, Willard). But the Ulongs -- with the exception of Bobby Jon, Stephenie and (maybe) Angie -- just don't seem to want it. With a leader like Tom, the Korors are willing themselves to these improbable victories. Bobby Jon had it exactly right at Tribal Council that Tom is making all the difference at Koror.
I agree with the poster who criticized Jeff. Basically, he gave up and quit the game! That being said, the Ulongs should have taken out Kim. The fact that the vote was all over the place -- 4 votes for Jeff, 2 votes for Kim and 1 vote for James is further evidence that they don't have it together.
Tom, Gregg and Ian rocked the Immunity Challenge last night but I wonder what happens when the individual immunity challenegs start post-merge. All those deadweight and under-the-radar players on Koror could band together to take out the alpha male studs after the merge.
Decent episode -- the challenges looked hard!

I have to admit that the challenges this season rock!!!
It was hilarious to see Koror trying to get a shark with wooden spears! Why were they standing in waist deep water? they should have threw the sea snake into more shallow water forcing the shark into a more precarious position.
I wonder how long that immunity challenge really lasted?? On TV it looks like they bowed out fairly quickly.
I am really starting to Like Bobby Jon a lot more. My favorites are still Tom (I have him in our office pool) and Gregg. It was nice to see Gregg actually talk this past episode.

Maybe they will let Wanda and Jonathan (was that his name?) come back and choose the entire new tribes since they were originally rejected. That would be a really fun twist. Those two never had their fire put out at tribal council or any other part of the game. And as we know, "fire represents life".

Another good episode last night; this season is sooooo much better than last. I was really happy to see Coby redeem himself in the immunity challenge. As he said on the video it was for all the times on the ball field, and that he would remember the day forever! I thought James' undies looked real nice on him, til I noticed they appeared stained. I understand there's no toilet paper, and it may have just been dirt. I was still thinking I might do him until he showed the washroom his tribe built and said that everyone had a toothbrush except him, rednecks don't brush their teeth! How will James ever be able to show his face at a construction site after having been beaten twice by a "homosexshul hairdresser with a big ass behind him"?

Let me start by giving credit where credit is due. After two consecutive weeks of disastrous Reward/Immunity Challenge performances, Coby stepped up in the Immunity Challenge and redeemed himself.
Unlike others on this board (and other boards), I did not enjoy this episode. Watching Koror decimate Ulong week after week has gotten old quickly and watching Ulong sink into a death spiral of mutual recriminations makes for dispiriting television.
I know that Koror in general (and Tom and Ian in particular) are popular with fans but it bothers me that someone like Stephenie, who is competing hard in every challenge, is fighting to stay alive in the game while many, many members of Koror are riding along on the strong backs of Tom, Ian and Gregg. It just galls me to see so many Korors coasting to the merge with so little effort when people like Stephenie, Angie and Bobby Jon are killing themselves in the challenges.
The Reward Challenge also left a sour taste in my mouth. This was supposed to be the toughest Survivor ever but the Korors walked away with a palatial shelter. I don't watch Survivor to see the participants living it up like it's Club Med.
Now that the field is narrowed down to 14 competitors (9 Korors and 5 Ulongs), I'm hoping that there will be a shake-up this week and the tribes will split into two tribes of seven. Otherwise, I'm bracing for an ultra-predictable, ultra-dull season where the Korors pagong the Ulongs out of the game and then the dominant alliance of Tom/Ian/Gregg/Jenn/Katie pagong the remaining Korors out of the game.

You're giving him way more credit than I do Milios, I think it just shows how puny and weak James is. But I just hate Coby!
I do agree with you about the weak players riding on the back of Ian/Tom/Greg etc. I'm predicting the worse case scenario. either a merge or a mix-up of the tribes and then the weak members ala last season join together to vote off the Tom/Ian's etc. I really love Tom and if the game was played the way I'd like to see he would be in contention to win. But I think we will see a Willard/Caren/Coby/Katie/Janu type group that starts to vote stronger members off soon.

If I was the producer, here's what I'd do to shake it up since the tribes seem so lop-sided: rather than reshuffle the teams, I'd give Ulong the two players who were booted from episode 1, all rested, well-fed and strong and ready to kick Koror butt. Then to keep the show close to its standard schedule, I'd do a double elimination surprise at the next tribal council. The losing side will have schemed out one player by the time they light their torches, but there would be chaos when Jeff surprises them by ordering them to complete not one, but *two* ballots for elimination. If Ulong loses, it would still be 9-5, if Koror loses, the teams would be even at 7-7.

There would have to be a triple elimination. Double elimination would result in the same number of people as were at the start of the episode. Each episode must end with one person less than the previous show. Must find a way to bring Jonathan back, though.

I'm all for bringing back Jonathan and Wanda if it would shake things up. I agree, though, that bringing them back creates problems in terms of eliminating enough people by the time Sweeps come to an end in May. I think a 7-7 reconfiguration would solve some of the problem. It's definitely in Mark Burnett's interest to do something.
StPtGator - I'm not a Coby fan either but I thought he displayed a little more fortitude this week, even if it was against James.
I still think that the Coby/Angie conversation from Episode 1 is going to prove significant. I can't believe the producers would have highlighted that for no reason.

Mar 17 2005, 07:52 AM
I actually thought the episode was a bit of a letdown. It certainly wasn't shocking. Frankly, the producers need to do something quickly; the diaparity in the relative abilities of the two tribes is so wide that the show is quickly losing appeal. If nothing else, just have them draw new buffs and divide into two new tribes again - at this point even a merger would be anticlimatic.
