So great to hear that Ralph Fiennes has been cast as Voldermort in the next Harry Potter flick...and Miranda Richardson as Rita Skeeter...
As usual, they get the creme of the British acting crop to play these wonderful characters.

I was holding out for Tim Curry or David Bowie--but Ralph Fiennes is a great choice.

Ah yes, but the real discussion a few weeks ago at the DC Eagle was who would play Deloris Uxbridge in the 5th film - Glenn Close (assuming she can fake a good British accent) was the clear choice.

Interesting choice CPT...though when my buddies and i talked about it after finishing Order of the Phoenix, we thought perhaps Dame Judi Dench...
As for Glenn--she can do ANYTHING in my book--and did a credible accent in Lion in Winter, i think she'd be great as Uxbridge, too.

Unfortunately, Rowling has decreed that no charecter will be played by an actor of another nationality (excepting the wide array of British nationalities in the first place). Karakof and Krum are being played by Bulgarians (I very nearly typed "Belgarion," but then, I'm a geek).
BTW, what's G*** K*****?

G*** K***** is an inside joke about hot jocks and the gay man's obsession with them. I think it was started by some of the board members who've been around for awhile. I did a search on it a couple months ago when there was a reference to it in another thread and pieced the history together...yes I have a lot of free time at work.

I just love it that this was the big topic at the leather bar in DC.

I know who would be perfect for Dolores Umbridge, if she's still alive, is Patricia Routledge
and bonus points for those who don't have to do a google to find out who she is

Those of us who have a set of Royal Doulton with blue periwinkles would never have to do a google search for Routledge.
In other Potter news, in an interview promoting "Ladies in Lavender," Maggie Smith said no decision has been about recasting the young actors--or the Hogwarts' professors--for the fifth movie.

It does. It just takes forever to load the movie. Gotta love Apple.
