Since it seems more and more likely that Jeff Bagwell will soon announce his retirement from baseball, let's flash forward five years when his name appears on the Hall of Fame ballot. Do you vote him in or not?
I go back and forth on Bagwell. There are lots of reasons to vote him in (and I'm a believer in a more inclusive Hall of Fame) but I always come up just short of saying I'd vote Bagwell into the Hall.

Absolutely, positively a Hall of Famer in my book. 400+ homers, 200+ steals, 15 years with the same team. MVP, Rookie of the Year, Gold Glove, many times an All-Star.
If you have to justify, then use the same reasoning that Kirby Puckett is in the hall. Great career, could have been a cinch Hall-of-Famer had it not been cut short by injury.

Yes, without a doubt.
Except ... his head and arms got awfully big, didn't they?
