After a franchise worst 3-12 start, Davey Lopes became the second manager to get the axe. Who's next?

Wait a minute: didn't Selig the Junior (what the hell is her name?) say just a few days ago that the Brewers needed to be patient? Had they suddenly become even worse???

Yes, Ms. Wendy Selig-Prieb said it was too early to pull the plug -- that the Brewers' were suffering from a temporary brutal early season. They may not have gotten worse, but they certainly ain't better!

AP is reporting that pitching coach Dave Stewart or bench coach Jerry Royster will take over.

Bench Coach...huh,

Does that mean all he was doing was sitting there, on the bench, minding his own business, blowing bubble gum, and swatting those hot, humpy, rear ends as they walked by....when he got the got the call to be the head honcho?

In that case I'd keep the old job! Afterall, as CITT puts it the Brew Crew is "Beautiful Men Playing Ugly Baseball"

And it may get more beautiful ... rumors that Paul Molitor might come back to the Cream City as the manager. Be still my heart ....
sparty on
Ok not saying Lopez shouldn't have been canned but didn't he lose like 6 pitchers to injury who were projected to be on the opening day roster????

Yowza!!! The bluest eyes on the planet back in uniform? It'll be worth it to watch the Brewers just to check him out again; talk about aging well.

What a bummer--Lopes is sexy in that daddy bear/oso papi kind of way. The team's ownership s*cks bigtime, they've had pitching problems, and they're in a competitive division. Perhaps he wasn't the greatest manager, but I think he's taking a fall for something that was a little out of his control.

I like the shot of player Lenny Harris giving him a hug. Lopes got a raw deal.

Hey whaddya know! It worked -- the Brewers won! And game hero Richie Sexson receives congrats from interim manager Jerry Royster.
