Anyone else here a fan of the group's music? I have been able to relate to so much of Jason Wade's songwriting (especially from the No Name Face CD). It's been more than a year and a half since the last CD release (which didn't measure up artistically at all to NNF) and it's sort of like they have fallen off the music industry map. Anyone have any leads about what is going on with the band? The official website gives no information about the band's goings-on. frown

Bobby, I can guess why they have fallen off the map. I went to a concert of theirs and could not understand anything they were singing. I knew several of their songs and couldn't even recognize any of them. Seems to me they were more of a studio band. That same night I saw Five for Fighting who turned out to be really good, and very talented.

I am going to the Lifehouse concert tonight here in town. I hope I have a better experience than Wade did when he saw them. It is in the same venue as the Travis concert in 2004 and I had a great time at that show. Once again, none of my friends want to go with me, so, it's off by myself, again.

The concert was very entertaining last night. Wade, I can understand what you mean about Jason's style of singing. Even on the cd it's sometimes difficult to understand what he is saying. But since I know every song by heart, it was easy to pick up on the lyrics.

They had a 15-song set pretty much ignoring the STANLEY CLIMBFALL cd except for 2 songs...which was fine with me since I saw CLIMBFALL as a work of disappointment. And this was probably the first concert I've been to where no cover songs were performed...which was refreshing. They stuck to their songs and it was awesome.

Bobby, glad you liked the concert last night. I have another artist who you might like: Rufus Wainwright. He's one of my favorites with his unique style of lyrics and music. He is originally from Montreal, so his words sometimes get misunderstood. I saw him a few weeks ago here in Atlanta, and was fully expecting that there would only be 200 or so fans of Rufus there since I never hear any talk about him. To my surprise, there must have been more than 2,ooo! What a great crowd and it was at an outside venue. He performed 23 songs, (a bit too long) and had songs from all ranges of his CD's. One big hit was a song called "Gay Massiah". If you haven't checked him out yet, do not stop at GO, go directly to your favorite music store and buy any of his CD's.

Rufus Wainwright was just here last night as one of the opening acts for Elton John in the free concert on the parkway (same place as Live 8). He did two songs and also, according to the paper, performed at the fundraiser held prior to the concert at the Art Museum (see info in the now-misnamed "Elton John goes nuts" thread). I would love to see him in a full concert but alas, when next he's in the area I'll be out in California.
