This apparently came out today because it wasn't on their website yesterday.

Never mind, I have no questions. Check it out! smile.gif

I wouldn't bother downloading a radio program to my iPod to listen to. There's a podcast done by the Philadelphia Daily News on a weekly basis (it started up recently -- all of the feeds done so far can be found here -- but I've only listened to it on my computer.

The US Soccer Federation is making good use of Podcasting. They have been interviewing national team players and coaches and posting the interviews online. Some of them are funny, some informative, and some just stupid, but it seems like a fairly interesting innovation.

I remember some time ago when a lot of my friends got into (club) DJing. It got so insane that I began wondering what the world would be like if everyone was DJing and nobody was listening.

I guess we're about to find out.

How easy is it to Podcast (what equipment is needed, how to upload etc.). Cyd and I have been kicking around doing something like this.

This might be of help, Jim. It's from an article in PC World magazine called "30 Things You Didn't Know You Could Do on the Internet." I recommend the whole article but this section of it discusses podcasting...

Jim, podcasting is incredibly easy. We are doing it for many of our Museum clients. Essentially you just create a standard MP3 file and post it on your website. You decide whether you want to RSS-enable the file, or require a site visit and manual download (my recommendation). If you go the latter route you may want to spend a bit of time creating an appealing UI or "hook" to get people to download your audio. BTW, although podcasting has become the generic term for this, you can actually download to any MP3 player, as well as to some cell phones and PDAs.

Thanks! Another question: How would it be possible for Cyd and I to record together with us living on separate coasts? Must be feasible.

Jim considering joining The Cultists [as he refers to Apple users] ?!

I was not aware that podcasting was the exclusive domain of Apple Worshippers! biggrin.gif

I'm pretty sure that if you and Cyd set up an audio chat with your computers, you could record the conversation then convert it to MP3.

I know iChat supports audio, presumably other IM clients support audio as well, but not all do. Then all you will need is a piece of software, such as GarageBand, to record the conversation.

A more complicated solution would involve each of you recording his side of the conversation, then sending the audio file to the other, then merging the file into one.
