I don't follow country music that much anymore so I had never heard of this guy, but yesterday's USA TODAY said that country singer Billy Currington is going to be in a 4-page "spread" for February's Playgirl Magazine. He does have pretty eyes.

Billy Currington can be seen in the current Shania Twain video, a duet called Party For Two.

On his website it says: "Playgirl Magazine will do a 4-page feature on Billy in their March 2005 issue. It is set to hit stands on February 8."
Note how it says "feature." That doesn't mean he'll necessarily be posing nude. Besides, he apparently has had some hit records, and posing nude isn't the type of thing recording artists do when their careers are on the upswing.

Local country station KZLA says that Currington will be "shirtless only" in the Playgirl feature and that it came about when a photographer and he "played around" during a shoot for a cd cover, taking some shots of Currington changing shirts.

Country Music Weekly asked Billy Currington about reactions to his being in Playgirl, and he offered this in reply:
"A buddy of mine from back home called me. I thought the issue was coming out February 8, and he called me, I think, on February 3, from some bar. He was with a bunch of women and they were rowdy. He said these girls told him they had the issue in their car and had been really looking at it. I kept telling him no way, thinking it wasn't out yet...He said, 'Billy, if that ain't your ass on the cover, I don't know whose it is!'" And this reaction from his grandmother:
"She couldn't get out what she wanted to say because she was laughing so hard. She and her friends had gotten a copy of the magazine...My Grandma told me her friend had some advice for me. The friend said, 'Next time you do one of these things, you need to be in a magazine like Redbook or something like that, so we don't have to look at all these weenies."
Sidepoint: the local country station, KZLA, has asked listeners for suggestions as to which singer they want to a similar spread in Playgirl and at least one of the on-air personalities has mentioned that Playgirl is mostly read by gay guys.

I buy Playgirl ever so often. I intend to buy the Billy Currington issue. Of course the guy really isn't barring his entire anatomy. I read yesterday in COUNTRY MUSIC WEEKLY that Billy Currington gave copies of his Playgirl issue to his mother and grandmother. His grandmother told him that the next time he appeared in a magazine to choose Redbook because she had to see lots of wienies in Playgirl. She knows she liked all that man meat.
Billy sure looks good. Remember when Type o negative's frontman Peter Steele did the full monty in playgirl several years ago? I know why he is referred to the pink giant.
