Did anyone watch this new show on CBS,last night?
I thought it was surprisingly funny and fresh.Jason Ritter plays the central character and although his co-stars are not big names, they all seem very talented. The show also features an attractive gay couple.
Jamesy
I did see this and thought it was funny with some potential in it! The gay part is played by a very good actor from England. He started out in a British Prime time Soap called East Enders. A funny show that he got a lot of press from. I was shocked to see him over here and thrilled for him. It should be interesting to see where it all goes as everything seemed to move fast. I lived in the UK for several years that is how I knew of him.
Maddog
Which gay part is he playing? The main gay guy, the main gay guys pin-up gay lover or the gay husband of the confused anchor woman? smile.gif

Since The Class has been shoved down our throats all summer, I Tivoed it and caught it after the game. I was really hoping to hate it but it had some cred. I mean it's not easy to take attempted suicide, infidelity and running over a fellow classmate and make them funny in 30 minutes, but they somehow did it.

I especially love the guy spitting out the mouthful of sleeping pills to answer the phone to get the invitation to the party. If I had a dollar for every time that's happened to me...

It's a dark, dark world and we're just living in it. I like shows that remind me of that...

Geez Maddog,
Are you sure you liked it? BTW,I think the guy with the glasses is the British one.

lol...I'm not sure I liked it, but will probably watch next week just to be sure.

Sean Maguire (who I LOVED in 100 Centre St) plays the gay guy, and Sam Harris plays the gay husband. MMMMM SEAN MA GUIRE......
J eddie
If I'm not mistaken he(Sean) also was on the UPN show "Eve" for a few seasons.

yuppp... LOL he is one hot assed dude, it was the only reason I watched Eve
Jamesy
Yes Sean is the English guy. A kid that I remember hard to comprehend him all grown up but he has dones well. I had forgotten about the husband I am sure he will not be around for long.

I just loved it because it was dark and funny at the same time.

I loved the two sisters with the dynamic ever optimist and ever pessimist. It was so funny.

I loved the "geek" character and can't wait to see the result of the car hitting his new love... it was just unexpected and I laughed so hard.

Co-anchor girl was funny too- and her husband is someone Id expect Liza Minelli to marry smile.gif

Little John Ritter is cute but needs new clothes- looked like he was wearing some of his dad'd clothes from Three's Company.

The second episode was equally funny!

I hate to admit it but I didn't realize that this "Sam Harris" is the same guy with the incredible voice who won on the Original Star Search several years ago!Such a wonderful singer and he seems like a pretty good actor, too!

This show makes me laugh! On the side, I giggle at the classmate with the daughter named Oprah and her "husband"!

I'm not sure he's doing too much "acting".

I thought the second episode was much stronger than the first. The stuff with the guy who lives with his mother and the girl married to the ex-football player is the weakest part of the show IMO. At least it's not another of the "Chubby Husband Married to the Too Hot for Him Wife with 3 Adorable Precocious Kids" sitcom like Jim Belushi, George Lopez, King of Queens, etc.
Maddog
Yeah and I have to agree with him putting the Super Bowl first. I can't think of any exes I have that would beat playing in the Super Bowl. unsure.gif

What happened??
Maddog
Redhead's got a live in.

I don't know...the show is missing the mark for me and I think it's the acting. The writing is very dark but good. It's just not being delivered. I guess it could be direction as well. The cast is too big for a concentrated effort. I guess they moved it so you can still watch MNF and catch it after but it's not doing it for me. They gave it a shot though.
coachjw
The surprise ending DID surprise me!! The redhead plays such a dimwit, I would've NEVER figured that he was two-timing... It makes you wonder what the waiter in the restaurant really meant about him ruining his life... (Do you really think he's a whistle-blower??)

I enjoy the show -- I'm not much of a critic. If I'm entertained, I'm good! tongue.gif

Well,I still love you but I also love the show. There are very few shows that I do like so this is a pleasant surprise for me.

I like this show a lot. Certainly it's one of the best new shows on TV. And you all did notice that was Sara Gilbert in bed, right?

I have to say that I didn't realize that was her.I was totally shocked that there was a woman in his bed!

I continue to love this show. Last night's episode was really funny.

CBS ordered 4 new episodes of it, but that's hardly a ringing endorsement. I hope it can survive.

I agree 100 %!

LOL #1: The impaling of the bunny in the first place.

LOL #2: The Japanese crew in Tokyo watching the Utube version.

LOL #3: "Boys, boys, quiet down, my wife just killed a bunny."-- Boy 1: A bunny? boy #2: His wife? HEHE

The Nicole/Yonk/other guy story is so boring.

I love Richie's delivery of lines and character....

Little Ritter is getting so damn cute.
TheOtherFSU
That was the line that had me laughing hysterically! "A bunny?" "His wife?!?"
coachjw
Did anyone watch this past Monday's episode? What did you think of that ending?? (With Richie the redhead's wife meeting his new gf)
TheOtherFSU
This show keeps getting better and better. I hope people are watching. It's going to be interesting to see how that whole Riche's girlfriend/Sara Gilbert thing works out.

It wasn't until recently that I found out that the oh-so-gay hubby of the TV weathercaster is none other than Sam Harris. Yes, that Sam Harris, of Star Search and "Over the Rainbow" fame. He is one of the funniest characters on TV... definitely funnier than Ugly Betty's gay nephew, even though he's funny in his own way. Sam Harris' character is a riot.

Edited to note: Ooh, I guess I should read this thread a little closer since Sam Harris was mentioned above. D'oh!
