The Team that i play softball on here in seattle is contemplating going to Gay Games. We are a Nagaa rated B division team. We have competed and done fairly well in the last few years at all tournaments we enter and have finished in top 5 last world series and 7th and 4th years before that....

this is my question. Gay games seems to be a true open tournament. meaning they have suggested skill levels. but that any "b" team could pick up a number of A players or an A team could be competeting in the b level. Now i am not saying that we cant compete with an A level team. We beat our a team here a couple of times last year.

I guess my problem is that why pay the money to go to chicago and play and possibly be competing in a division that you have no hope of winning and honestly probably no hope of doing very well...

WOuldnt it be better to just attend Ft lauderdale world series and compete in a division which you know you will be grouped with teams of the same skill level?

any ideas opinions?

Well, since I'm part of the effort to put on the Gay Softball World Series in Ft. Lauderdale in August (anybody want to buy advertising in our program?), I may be a little biased, and I know that the Gay Games only happen every four years. This is, however, also the 30th anniversary of the start of the Gay Softball World Series -- and you don't have to pay an exorbitant tournament fee to play here. So come here!!!
