And it's (you guys are going to hate me for this) ...
http://sportserver.com/images/gallery/hors...7/hrc1646.0.jpgLast year's Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner ...
War Emblem!
War Emblem was retired to stud after winning the first two legs of the Triple Crown last year ... something not in Funny Cide's future ... and it seems that War Emblem's got no interest in the fillies. Zilch. Nada. Nothing. Seems he'd rather sing and dance along to original cast soundtracks of Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals. Well, OK, I made that last part up, but the rest is true.
According to this article from ESPN --
"War Emblem's fate in limbo" -- War Emblem's owners are trying to file an insurance claim based on War Emblem's failure to breed. Typically, these policies cover infertility. That's apparently not the problem here. According to the article:
QUOTE
War Emblem's situation is unusual in that it doesn't involve physical infertility but a lack of desire to breed. The horse reportedly impregnated seven mares earlier in the season but then refused to continue.
I've known guys like that. Married. Maybe fathered a kid. But then realized that wasn't the way things were meant to be.
Looks like we've got another entrant from the Outsports list of gay athletes. And a champion to boot.

Can't wait for the press conference to deny these rumors followed by the press releases that he is dating Filly Universe.
Wonder if War Emblems female friends are referred to as Fag Nags?

He's fine if he doesn't tell the world he's been sleeping with Tom Cruise!
I always thought he was kind of a diva, only trying in races when it suited his mood. He was one of my favourite horses though.

I've also heard he has done his "cher" of checking out the fellow studs in the "neigh"borhood....
A passing thought- Maybe they should consult that woman who is a pet/animal psychic. She was consulted with a difficult elephant- she claims the elephant was upset she couldn't grieve for a loved one- they brought the skull remains of that elephant to her (supposedly in the wild they do this on their own in elephant graveyards)- she fondled and touched the skull with her trunk and was a great citizen after... Maybe they should consult her to see why War Emblem is having problems "getting up"

What has happened to our great horse racing tradition??? First they allow this...this sissy horse last year, then this year we had one that's undergoing a sex change. What's next, another GIRL horse???!?!? Well, I draw the line there!! If they try and run a girl again, I'm gonna have one of my all-MAN horses tell her, "hey, chicky, go back to the stall and get me another sugar cube!!!!!"

This very subject was discussed on a local sports radio show, 680 "the fan", in Atlanta. The hosts of the show had noticed that War Emblem's stall was always impeccably neat and that his mane was a little too perfect.
As a matter of fact, do you know what he eats...?

Perhaps an early clue were those pornographic pix in his stall of Secretariat...and Jeff Stryker (with whom he has something in common)...

Putting to rest ridiculous rumors about his sexual orientation, one-time Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner War Emblem was seen canoodling last night at The Jockey Club with his new filly, former Playhorse Stablemate Amber Equine. Equine, as it happens, is the new horsemodel for Heineighken beer.

Okay, in all serious-ness (or at least as much as this topic can engender) - have they never heard of artificial insemination? I mean, we can clone a g-damn sheep but they can't figure out how to "milk" a stud to make babies the new-fashioned way?
BTW - do you think he's a Top or Bottom?

WNET Channel 13 here in New York will broadcast Out in Nature: Homosexuality in the Animal Kingdom on Tuesday June 17 from 10:30-11:30. Not sure if they'll profile War Emblem.
Here is how TimeOut New York "describes" the show:
Does your ferret wax his chest and cruise Chelsea on weekends? Is your cow really into leather? Does your iguana bring her "roommate" to every Thanksgiving dinner? This Pride Month documentary suggests that homosexuality occurs regularly outside of the human species-no surprise to those of us who grew up watching Snagglepuss.
Of course, you'll have to check your local listings.

A donkey was recently cloned with a technology that would likely work for horses. Also, artificial insemination is used in equines, but not for thoroughbred horses. In order to be a registered thoroughbred, a horse must be conceived through natural means which articial insemination is not. If War Emblam cannot get it up for the phillies he is worhtless as a stud.

War Emblem is having problems getting it up for the
fillies.
With Pat Burrell in left field, I don't believe anyone is having problems getting it up for the
Phillies.

2002 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner War Emblem is having some trouble at the stud farm -- he's been
offered 100 mares this year and has only covered one, and she didn't become pregnant. Is this our next big gay athlete???

There is at least one other thread at Outsports on this subject, but Charlie in the Trees's thread goes way back. Accordingly, he gets the honor. Outsports is mentioned in the article, too.

Why isn't track star War Emblem interested in the ladies?

Five years ago this weekend, the great War Emblem won the Preakness. He’s since been, well, outed. When War Emblem's name comes up around the water trough these days, talk turns to whether or not the horse is gay.
....
Reports of his shed deficiencies led to rumors that War Emblem was light on his hooves. Stories on Outsports.com and recent punch lines in Jay Leno monologues insinuated as much.
