ESPN right now is showing a college basketball game. The telecast began at noon. The game itself began at 12:01. No pre-game blathering, no features, no commercials, nothing. A brief introduction by the announcers and then all of a sudden, the game starts!
This is what should happen with the World Series. Not quite so abruptly, but...for all night games, even if the telecast has to start at 8 pm, start the game itself at 8:05. Let everyone who needs all the pre-game analysis to go to ESPN or go online or read a newspaper.

What? And not have to listen to that mindless blob of cells named Tim McCarver babble his BS for an hour or so? Whatever would we do?
