FILA the international governing board for wrestling has established Rules for Beach Wrestling.

Haven't found any photos on the net of the "unofficial" versions that must surely exist. Could become very popular on gay beaches and considering the straight guys response to women's volleyball, they'll love women wrestling.

The proposal has been greeted with some scepticism from real wrestlers who love the sport without the shomanship but an alternative way to popularize wrestling might be submission wrestling which is already popular in many countries like United Arab Emirates where the Abu Dhabi wrestling club seems very popular.

I found a lot of photos on the site, some of which I'll post on I Hot Jock Talk under the wrestling thread. I'm sure many of the positions they get into are bit too, ummm, shall I say frivolous for a serious discussion?

The rules seem like a modified and more civilized form of the ancient Greek form of Pancration. Check out the point scoring which includes The mount position which encourages some very erotic photo ops.

Thanks for the link. I've seen references to submission wrestling in personals and on message boards but assumed (because of the context) that it just a fetish. The actual sport looks pretty interesting.

Dude, that TC Danzler pic is ridiculous. No one will be able to convince me this is a "straight" sport, not when a brutha is packing heat like that... You can't NOT notice that.
