Are there any surfers in this board. I dont see it mentioned much and was curious.

I mentioned it once here as a sort-of sport and was laughed into meek submission.

Not a surfer, but always wanted to try. I live in San Francisco and am "only" 45 - it's never too late to start in this town!

To me surfers are clearly athletes and at the top level it is a sport (more than golf, in my book). smile.gif

I am also a bay area resident and am in my 20's. I have gone boogie boarding / body surfing but have never done the real surfing. I am just learning to read the waves and all that jazz so my goal is by next summer to be able to get up on a board and then i can be a surfer dude from cali. (sorry that is my midwestern blood coming out in my still.)

Hey well at least there is an interest in it. I agree surfers are athletes, and most of em are in great shape. if youve ever paddled out even in small waves and spent an hour out there you come back with tired arms and legs. 45 is definitley not to old to learn and in 20s for sure. Youll find its a bit different than boogie boarding but knowing the wave/surf patterns helps. You just have to go get the largest board you can find...and stay away from the guys who can really surf. Im an 31yo east coast surfer living near beach in NY. ( yeah we have good surf here). always wondered if anyone from here surfed.

Oh yeah GO YANKS..(Yank fan too !)
