The Syracuse Orangemen will face Princeton in the NCAA Division I lacrosse championship. I watched the Syracuse v. Virginia semifinal today and have to say I was on the edge of my seat during the last minute of regulation, and during BOTH overtime periods. What a great game, and what a great winning goal by Tom Hardy!
The final will be televised on ESPN2 on Monday!

Evidently it was a really great game with both teams having a number of chances in OT. Virginia couldn't hold the stall in the final couple of minuted, and then Cuse had a goal with 25 sec to play in regulation and won the faceoff and got of a shot, but Johnson saved it.
In any case, congrats to the Orangemen. Finalists are the same as they have been for the past three years! With the Princeton women winning last week, it could be another sweep like 1994 for Old Nassau!

Yeh, it was a great game. I'd love for 'Cuse to win the title tomorrow. It should be a good match, and a high-scoring finale, to boot...

An amazing final, albeit a controversial one...
Syracuse ultimately won an 8th national title. Syracuse d. Princeton 13-12.
Princeton had the ball with 11 seconds left, but 'Cuse stole the ball back. The Orangemen started celebrating early not knowing a flag had been thrown. Time was placed back on the clock due to an illegal substitution on the part of Syracuse.
Playing a man down, Syracuse successfully hung on in the final seconds to defeat the Princeton Tigers. No one has won more national titles than the Orange...

Great final!! Our local traffic is still recovering from all those out of towners, but definitely worth it. Great weather, two national powerhouses, and an incredible finish!
BTW, that was Syracuse's 7th title. Princeton and SU were both tied with 6 each going into today, and, combined, they have won 13 of the last 15 National Titles.

The announcers said it was 'Cuse's eight title, and this has been reported in several different places, including:
