I sent the link to a chat buddy of mine over on the west side of Michigan. The guy is really into cowboys, so I thought he'd dig the galleries.

He sent me back an email saying that he KNOWS Reatta and has stayed at Reatta's place a couple years back!!! WOW!

An interesting mix of real cowboys and posers. The one that really cracked me up was the "cowboy" on the back bumper of a TOYOTA!! with California license plates!! Those probably aren't even Wranglers that he's wearing. (As everyone should know, real cowboys wear Wranglers, not Levi's.)

Real cowboys also do not wear huge belt buckles while working, and do not generally wear cowboy boots to the bar.

Any cowboy I have ever met here in Montana wears boots only if they are riding, but change into something more comfortable if they are going to be going out for a beer or anything else.

Oh ya, the cowboy hat is usually left at home and replaced by a ball cap too.

But it's still fun to look at the guys all duded up ain't it.

my brother is a cowboy, and he does behave pretty much in the manner of which bobcat described -- in fact, his ballcap was so greasy and gross last time I saw him. btw, he's a breeder, and loves the ladies.

I ride horses competitively in TN. I'm far from a cowboy, but it's a lot of the same folks. they make endless fun of me when I forget and leave my spurs on when I go to lunch. They'd probably leave me in the car if I wore a big belt buckle.

I grew up on a ranch and we did a lot of the rodeo events. you could always tell who the new folks were by what they wore when they came to practice. It is a great site though, I miss the cowboys anyway.

Speaking of gay rodeos... Is anyone here going to the one near Chicago this weekend? I always intend to go to this event but miss it each year. I think this might be the year I actually go check out the action.
