May sound a bit morbid but I read the obit section everyday -- learn a ton of stuff (mostly trivial from them). A recent notable one was Jim Delsing.. His claim to fame: he was the pinch runner for the midget that Bill Veeck put up to bat in a St. Louis Browns game. The midget walked (naturally) -- and Delsing replaced him on first.
