For the Mets, there hasn't been much reason to be happy this season.
But apparently for Rey Sanchez, that's still no reason not to look good.
According to a report in the New York Post, Mets manager Art Howe plans to address a possible incident involving Sanchez, who allegedly got a haircut in the Mets clubhouse during a recent game.
Radio reports talked about the incident, saying Mets reliever Mike Stanton found Sanchez getting his hair trimmed by a clubhouse attendant, not a barber.
\"The situation will be assessed and addressed,\" Howe told The Post through media relations vice president Jay Horwitz.
Stanton, who won three World Series with the Yankees, reportedly told a former colleague he was \"flabbergasted\" by what he saw.
Stanton later told The Post through Horwitz: \"Whatever happened or didn't happen will remain in the clubhouse.\"
Sanchez can't exactly back up his alleged actions with his play: the shortstop has a lowly .179 batting average, no home runs and 12 strikeouts.
