Did any of you guys watch the Gymnastics competitions that were being held in the Circ E Sole (sp?) Theatre last night.

I was doing the X-Trainer at the gym and got to watch Blain Wilson, Alexi, Sean Townsend, and Rothesberger all RIP THEIR SHIRTS OFF. Talk about a good workout session.

On a side note, Blain's voice sounded a lot more feminin than I had always pictured it would be.

I look forward to this "Rock and Roll Gymnastics" special every year. There's always some shirt removal action. John Macready looked hot as always -- a bit skinny, but buffed. Even got some bicep flexing action from John Roethlisberger.

Actually, I thought Alexi Neimov took his "Sexy Alexi" stripping act a bit far for a family-friendly show in his second performance. But damn he looked good.

ESPN and ESPN2 will probably replay this several times in the next few months, but last night was probably the only primetime showing.

re: Blaine's feminine voice -- Ya gotta remember the guy's only about 4'10", MSU. Hard to get too much depth and resonance. He can still stash his shoes under my bed anytime.

I watched the show last night, it was actually taped from 1999, I'm not sure all of those people can still do all that! It was a lot of fun to see the guys taking their shirts off, but a little embarrassing to watch some of them dance.

The show was actually taped in Dec. 2000 and even though ESPN and ESPN2 have aired it several times over the past two years (this was the third time ESPN showed it this month and the 2nd prime time airing), I NEVER get tired of seeing it (for many reasons )....they tend to show it on Monday nights in the fall and winter -- maybe ESPN is trying to attract the non-NFL viewers (thinking it will ONLY appeal to women )....in either event, those shirtless, "playing to the crowd" performances by Sean, Alexi, and Blaine (among others) are incredibly home-erotic and better than some porn.

I only wish these gymnasts would have another "tour" like that one in 2000 -- I certainly wouldn't hesitate to buy a ticket....coming from someone who is "only" 5'9'', all those cute, "small" gymnasts are some of the best looking athletes on the planet and prove that a guy doesn't have to be 6' or 250 pounds to be HOT.

Blaine's wife is a 6'+ volleyball player named Makare. I believe she was on the Italian 2000 Olympic team.

You're right gamecock, last night's show was from 2000, a shoot-off of the post-Olympics Tour of Champions. The had a "Rock n' Roll Gymnastics" competition every year from 1995 to 2000, but I don't know if there's been a new one since then.

There used to also be an annual "Reese's Cup" show, with the men & women competing in pairs. It was similar in style, but they did routines on the apparatus as well as the floor exercise. There's nothing like watching a shirtless gymnast on the rings!
