Some southern hemisphere concerns here. As much as I enjoy Outsports topics, it would be great for equal interest in southern hemisphere sports relevant to Aussie, New Zealand, South Africa, etc. This is a stretch, I know, but is there anyone out there who competes at surf lifesaving or even an interest. I do several surf events in competition such as ski, board, surf canoe, etc. Secondly, and more likely, who's watching rugby union?

I'm not into water-sports but would watch "footy" if it were shown regularly on an accessible chanel here. I was in New Zealand about a year and a half ago and loved it; Spent most of my time with friends of a friend while in Auckland for a week and did a five day whirlwind self-guided tour of the south island. The train from Christchurch to Greymouth was especially fun (saw quite a few kayakers). Also visited the Hoglund glass factory. I wish the afl were a pro league here so that there would be games to watch on the "telly". The guys are so athletic and gorgeous. I know it's not the same as rugby but I find "footy" more appealing.
