John Rocker has signed on to play with the minor league Long Island Ducks of the Atlantic League. Hope he doesn't have to take any subways or spend too much time in New York City itself as both of those things seem to instill irrational fears in him. wink

Full Version: John Rocker Back in Baseball
Fortunately for John Rocker, the Long Island Ducks play all the way out in Central Islip, which is in Suffolk County, and even 20 miles east of where I was born in Nassau County (Bethpage). He can fly in and out of ISLIP airport without ever even seeing any of those people that he thinks are so horrible in the City.
That's the same league as the Camden Riversharks, who play right across the Delaware River. If he's still with Long Island when they come to this area we absolutely must go and see him, while wearing Outsports stuff. Who's with me?
Outsports merch is way too subtle for someone as stupid as John ... you need to carry big signs that say "I [Heart] John Rocker" and "Show Me Your Rocker."

The problem is that John Rocker is only saying that he would like the people of New York to "bury the hatchet". If he just said from the start that he didn't like New Yorkers (like many other ill-informed people) or Mets fans, that would be one thing. But, he is the one that specifically targeted certain minority groups. While I acknowledge that he half-heartedly apologized a few years ago for these comments, I have yet to see him do anything to make us think that he is still nothing more than a loud-mouthed bigot.
