two more homers for Chris Shelton yesterday..
Detroit's not going anywhere. Enjoy this brief success while it lasts. The Tigers will end up near the bottom of the division.

If you cut through Ontario, that is the mileage from the Peace Bridge to the Windsor Tunnel(I did measure it once)....I suppose you could add another 100 miles or so by going around Lake Erie if you so desired.

Two five-games and now a six-game. What is this world coming to? I did say in another post lets not make a huge deal out of this because it is so early. But, nonetheless, it is somewhat exciting.

Minnesota had a loooong ride as far as clobbering the Tigers over the last few years so this is even more satisfying.

Kind of an interesting story.I bet one of my co-workers that the Tigers would win 90 games this season.I got tired of him bad-mouthing them so I took the bet just for the hell of it.The loser has to buy the winner lunch at a nice restaurant.
I know anything could happen but I'm still enjoying the Tigers success so far AND watching my co-worker squirm! wink

Aside from the Disney-esque tigers (eating baseballs?? wtf!!) on the facade, I liked everything else about Comerica Park. It had a more intimate feel than Cellular field (maybe because the seat sections were broken up more) and I think having the field below street level really concentrated your attention on the game. Of course, the old stadium is still down the freeway -- rusting away while they try to get the money for up-keep. I hear baseball has been played on that site since about 1896 and is one of a handful of original ML stadiums still around.
I was skeptical, but Detroit's worth a visit, at least during baseball season. 8)

Geez, 9 shutouts. Even factoring in how often they get to play KC, that only the Cardinals are even close to then in runs allowed is amazing.
They're a hair behind St Louis in
Defensive Efficiency, and Verlander, Rogers, Maroth and Robertson are all among the 15 best pitchers in the AL so far by most measures...

Should we break out the "Bless You Boys" song from 1984?
Maybe Eminem can make it into a rap/rhyme
