My annual road-trip from Madison to Chicago this year is June 26th. I love watching my beloved Brewers play in America's best ballpark, Wrigley Field. Any Cubs or Brewers fans interested in attending the game, drinks afterward in Boy's Town? It's an exciting trip, but a little lonely for me (especially in a Brewers cap!). Come on...Let's Play Ball!

Go Brew Crew!

Love Wrigley, too. No other park I've been to has the atmosphere that it does; certainly not the new Comiskey (US Cellular?) Park.

Used to live within walking distance of the park, before moving to Kansas a couple of weeks ago. Would've taken you up on your offer otherwise.

Go Badgers!

I'd imagine the move from ChiTown to anywhere, KS. takes a little getting used to? I'm assuming you lived in Wisconsin at one point? Anyway, thanks for the reply...On, Wis!

Welcome to Kansas, UW Fan! (Thread whiplash, anyone?) I love Lawrence, especially doing a little Saturday afternoon shopping & bar hopping along Massachussets. Lawrence is a quintessential great college town, in the way that Wrigley is the epitome of a great classic ballpark (How's that for veering back on topic?) Hubby and I are going to Chicago sometime in early summer; haven't decided when yet; and we love going to a game no matter who's playing.

There are plenty of us transplanted Wisconsinites (some gay, of course) in Chicagoland ... and a friend of mine (who's gay and in an LTR) is a transplanted Kansan. Don't know if I can get off work either of those days (definitely not the 25th), but if you email or PM me, I can ask around.

The third annual OUT at the Ballgame is July 12th at Wrigley Field. Cubs take on the Braves at 12:15. This event has been hugely successful the last couple years. The allotted tickets for the OUT section generally sell out fast and spill over into adjacent sections. It's definitely a fun way to take in a game at Wrigley. I'm definitely going to pick up a couple tickets.

That said, your June trip may coincide with Pride in Chicago. I'm not certain of the dates, but it usually falls on the last weekend of June. Anyone know the dates for sure? The saturday of that weekend is usually a gay beach volleyball tournement, which is where I'll be.

Looks like there should be plenty going on in town the weekend you make the trip.

I enjoy Lawrence a great deal; definitely a change from living in Boystown for three years. Will probably move to KC at some point, as I have a lot of friends there.

Hope y'all have fun at Wrigley...

The parade is Sunday, June 29, starting at noon from Belmont & Halsted. Various other events in days (weeks?) leading up to it.

Damn! We're gonna be out in Wisconsin visiting my family the week before -- otherwise we'd definitely make the trip down to Chicago.

So instead we're going to the 6/12 day game at Miller Park. If any of you guys are around, stop by our tailgate -- simple stuff, just brats, kraut, beer and root beer. I can't wait -- we're taking some of our nieces and nephews -- though one of them is a bit young -- will probably only like the Sausage Race! We got seats on the first base side so I can pay close attention to my man, Richie Sexson!

Count me as one of the True Blue Brew Crew!

Actually, the date of the game that I'll be down for is June 26th. I'll probably take vacation time and stay the weekend considering it's Chicago Pride - what better time to be in the Windy City, right?

Go Brewers!
Wisconsin Jock
Thanks Bdgsrule gonna try to make Wrigley Field the 26th...dont think I can make the whole weekend thing though...thinking of the ball game on Thursday & maybe coming back on Sunday for Pride since Milwaukee is so close to chicago
Wisconsin Jock
Hey DCBucky...if I get to the Brewers-Marlins game on the 12th will stop at your tailgate party...hopefully warm sunny day so lots of shirtless guys out with the smell of steaks & burgers coming from grills all over the parking lot smile.gif Cant wait for the tailgate parties to begin!!
bdgrsrule
Just checking in. Still planning to go to Chicago! Let me know if you're interested and we'll plan to meet up. Wisconsin Jock are you still game?

Go Brewers!

If I am reading this correct ... yes, they did teach us reading at FSU ... we have a pre game tailgate "lusting Kyle Farnsworth" party going, right? I am game for the Brew crew game on the 26th. Are we going to have a post game pub crawl?
Lets us all get together for this one .... cum (LOL) on guys ... Go Cubbies, Jim
Wisconsin Jock
Hey bdgsrule...yeah count me in the Cubs-Brewers game the 26th....as of now just planning on coming down for the game & day in Chicago...Going to Summerfest over the weekend, but thinking of coming back Sunday for Pride parade...how about the Brewers this weekend? Extra inning loss today away from sweeping the Reds...yesterdays 2out 3 run home run by Eddie Perez was so sweet!!

Hey, over the last 6 games, they're playing better than the Yanks! And Geoff Jenkins today has already hit 3 home runs -- and Wayne Franklin is throwing a one-hitter through 7 innings (of course the Brew Crew is only up by 5, so that could change in a heartbeat!)

Anything happening with the Brewers-Cubs game at Wrigley? I am definitely taking the day off work & heading down to Chicago on the 26th..I think it was a great idea but havent heard anything about it recently...
bdgrsrule
Sorry I haven't kept in touch. Here's the score... I'm planning to go down Thursday for the game. I plan to be parked and at Wrigleyville no later than noon (I'm shooting for 11:30am).

Let's make a plan to meet somewhere before the game. I haven't got my ticket yet, we'll have to buy them together.

PM me, if you're interested!!!(Cubs fans welcome, too!)

Go Milwaukee!!!
bujeff23
GO CUBS. I'll actually be at that game too with straight friends.
bdgrsrule
UPDATE...Wisconsin Jock and I are metting at the box office at noon. We can use our "gaydar" to identify ourselves, also I'll wear my blue Brewers visor.

Hey guys, my business partner and I have Cubs season tickets. It would be fun to hook up with y'all before the game on the 26th.

Let me know.

Go Cubs

Hey, sounds like fun! Where is your favorite pre-game spot? Leave a time/place and I'll try to make it! Cubs fans have been enjoying a terrific season, good luck to you all!

Go Brewers!

Excellent! All you Outsports Brewers fans who were at Wrigley yesterday saw a hell of a game -- Mark Prior's great pitching followed by a Geoff Jenkins three run homer in the ninth to claim a victory for the Brew Crew!

Sorry Outsports Cubs fans ...

btw -- I think I'm in love with Scott Podsednik ... don't tell Richie Sexson tongue.gif

You are absolutely right about Scotty P., Bucky -- he is definitely HOT lookin in that boy-next-door kind of way....not unlike his cute teammates, Keith Ginter and Curtis Leskanic, too (Leskanic apparently has toned up his body and gotten much hotter over the past two seasons, it appears) tongue.gif ....you can have Richie Sexson, though (a little too tall for me anyway biggrin.gif ) -- just give me the rest of the Brew Crew, whose 2003 roster is making all those overweight, long-haired guys on their 80's World Series team look even worse.

Just back from Chicago...Bdgrule picked a great game to see...one of the best baseball games I have ever seen...great pitching duel between Wayne Franklin & Mark Prior....Prior had 16 strikouts & no walks in 8 innings....3 to 2 in favor of the Cubs going into the 9th for whatever reason Dusty Baker took Prior out & put in Joe Borowski...Scott Podsednick & Keith Ginter got hits & Geoff Jenkins came up & jacked it over the right field bleachers....was one of my best sports moments ever...the Cubs fans were so angry us few Brewer fans didnt dare show to much excitement or I am sure we would have been injured!! Anyway perfect weather day at Wrigley ...sunny 70's...All in all great day for Brewers fan & a real tough one for the Cubbies..
gamecock
Glad to hear you had such an awesome day at Wrigley, WiscJock....you definitely got to see a little bit of everything between Prior's 16K performance (btw, I'm sure the fact that Mark had thrown 126 pitches was the main reason for Dusty pulling him, much to the Brewers delight wink ), the 9th inning rally from your Brew Crew (I hope you didn't hold in all your excitement despite being surrounded by angry Cub fans), not to mention getting to see the cute tandem of Scott Podsednik and Keith Ginter, who set the table for Jenkins' heroics....it is memories from those type of games that stay with you long after the season is over -- and, unfortunately, all the loyal Brewer supporters have had little to cheer about in recent years (due in no small part to the team being ill-managed by the Selig clan, but that's another topic altogether).
bujeff23
I was at the Cubs/Brewers game that day too. I'm still throwing up smile.gif

Congrats to the Brewers fans.
bdgrsrule
What a game! The Cub fans around me were so pissed off (who could blame them?) I had to contain my emotions. God, I love Wrigley Field! I'm already looking forward to going down next summer!

Go Brewers!
pajock
I just saw the Phillies play the Brewers last night and I too am in love with Scott Podsednik-that man is hot hot hot! I'm going again tonight!
Wisconsin Jock
Scott Posednick went 4 for 5 with a home run & 4 rbi's today in leading the Brewers victory today against Pittsburgh...he is really a hot looking guy...saw him in an interview on Channel 4 here in Milwaukee...he is a genuinely sweet guy from rural Louisianna with this awesome southern accent...came across as genuine honest boy next door type...hope he continues his great rookie seaon for the Brewers...looking forward to seeing him in cenerfield at Miller Park for the next several years!!
UW Fan
Because I was curious, I checked out the MLB site for the Brewers. Looks like he was Texas bred.

Hope this link works... Scott Podsednik Bio

The ugly side of Dusty Baker continues rearing its ugly head on the North Side as the Cubs pick up yet another "proven veteran" for the stretch drive. What's with this aversion Baker has to players on the upside of their careers?

Have a ticket for the Brewers/Cubs game this Saturday the 6th...was wondering if any Brewers fans or Cubs fans driving up from Chicago are going to be at the game...would be fun to meet up somewhere at Miller Park...should be a good game...the Brewers have won 12 of their last 14 games & the Cubbies are in a dog fight with the the Cards & Astros for division crown & possible wild card...Was thinking TGI Fridays restaurant would be a good place to meet some time during the game...if any interest post a reply...thanks!
