We've discussed reseeding the playoffs in the NBA and the NHL, why not do it for the Grand Slams?
Look at the bottom half of the men's draw. The highest remaining seed is 22, while seeds 4 and 1 remain in the top half. Though this year is extreme, it is not uncommon for several high seed players to lose early in Grand Slams. Reseeding at the round of 16 would even out the upsets.

I personally think that reseeding is not so good. With tennis being an individual sport, there is more direct impact to rearranging the draw once the tournament is in progress. Just imagine if you are the Canucks and you beat the Avalanche. Instead of playing the Blues, you suddenly get the Red Wings due to reseeding.
The same would be true in tennis. Someone could knock off Serena in the third round. Then, after reseeding, instead of Testud, they get Venus. They are effectively penalized for playing a great match and knocking off the #2 player.
Part of the single-elimination format is that big upsets will skew the outcome of the tournament. It sometimes produces uninteresting matchups, but it is part of the game.
