The Florida Marlins met with Las Vegas officials about a possible relocation. Apparently Miami is dragging it's heels on a new stadium for the Marlins. Vegas is probably just being used a negotiation decoy but I'd like to see them land a team.

It would be nice to see sin-city get a professional sports team. But I agree it is probably just a ploy for the Marlins to get that new stadium they want.
The knock on Las Vegas has always been the proximity to gambling and the image that is projected. Hopefully MLB or any other league will realize that this is more than a gaming city, one that is a growing residential base.

The Marlins have been told
that they can't play in Pro Player stadium after the 2010 season. So they have 6 years to get a new stadium or a new city.

That is also a ploy to get the County to get off of their butts and finish this thing. Almost everything is in place to get it to happen, but the county keeps dragging it's feet...
